I don't know what it is...but I'll be able to make my ADRs on the 19th and I haven't even started to plan. I can't get into it this year. Here's the deal...Please HELP me! It will be me, DH, DD7 and MIL this year. We are staying at the Beach Club December 18th thru the 23rd and are doing the dining plan. DH's sis and her two grown kids and their spouses are meeting us for a day at Epcot one day. They won't tell me when they are planning on coming so I don't know how to even begin. I don't know if it's because I'm so overwhelmed with it being Christmastime or if it's because they won't tell me or what. Should I plan it that they aren't coming and then try to last minute something IF they do show? What would you do?...someone please nudge/push/shove me to get me started. Let the suggestions begin....please!:lovestruc

:faint: You can make ADRs on the 19th and haven't started planning? ;) The horror!!! :scared1: Not knowing what kind if food you like or if there are any allergies or other criteria (we are Jewish and don't eat pork) this is kind of hard but.................

Does your DD want to do a character meal? If so, plan for one but not CRT. IMHO it's soooo overrated!

A group meal in Epcot? How about Le Cellier or Les Chef or maybe even Marrakesh? We ate at Marrakesh and they can easily fit in large parties and the food was awesome! :thumbsup2

We love 'Ohana- also fun for big groups and your DD will love it. It's interactive.

Do you enjoy seafood? Maybe Flying Fish on the Boardwalk?

Good luck! :goodvibes

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't know what's come over me, I love to OVER plan but this year, just is too weird for me for whatever reason...we did do the CRT for lunch in '07 and thought it was very overrated. No allergies...love ALL sorts of food, Japense, Seafood, Steaks...you name it we eat it! :) Character meals are not a must. I would like to have breakfast and dinner ressies and then wing lunches. We are morning people and DH LOVES his breakfasts....Here's what we've done in the past two years....We have eaten at Cape May for the dinner buffet, Crystal Palace for breakfast, Akershus for dinner, Coral Reef for dinner, 1900 PF for breakfast and dinner, Kona for breakfast, Wolf Gang Pucks for lunch, CRT for Lunch and Tusker House for breakfast....out of them we LOVED Tusker House, Cape May and Akershus...If I don't make ressies for the group meal is it going to be totally impossible to walk in some place at Epcot and eat? Or should I just make ressies as if everyone is coming, tell the family that this is when/what it is and pray for the best? What would you do about that?

You always have the fall back of counter-service.
I really enjoy sitting out by the water at the Mexico cantina.

If anyone complains, tell them THEY should have made a reservation for somewhere before they arrived.

You can always make a reservation and cancel it if not needed.

i have to agree w/jeannieblue114--make the reservations and if there is any complaining then they should have opened their mouth before the fact. make the ADR and let them know the place and time......good luck!:yay:

OK, you've all inspired me...I'm just gonna do it and hope for the best....if anyone has any other ideas for ressies that 'they' prefer....please don't hesitate to give me your opinion.....

Jiko -dinner
Boma - breakfast
Cape May -buffet
Akershus - dinner
Tusker House -breakfast
California Grill - dinner

Any others that sound good???? Thanks so much for putting the fire under my rump!:goodvibes

So if my group has 4 staying in our Resort and I need to make ressies for dinner with the rest of the group that may be meeting us there....is that possible to do online or do I have to call that one in? I'm new to the online ADRs this year....I actually am clueless to this one....just thought of it....tia!!!

sounds great to me! I'd back up Cali Grill with Yachtsman (so close to BCV!)
and how many reservations are your extended family 'might be' joining you? its easier to go down, then to add people...

It looks like you are going to AK 3 days - you must love AK!! :lovestruc we sure do!! I do appreciate Cape May for when we are staying BCV or BWV!!!

I cant answer the online question - but its worth a try - if it wont let you - you then can call!!

GL :wizard:

Koussina is new and in the Epcot resort area. That could be good. Yachtsmen Steakhouse provided to be a good choice on my July trip. Flying Fish also gets great reviews.

Don't forget - Beaches and Cream, ESPN Club and the Brewing Works are right by your hotel - all TS but don't take reservations.

Edited to add: I personally, would be disappointed in a trip where either a) I ate mostly counter service b) wasted my valuable vacation time trying to find reservations for a large group because they didn't plan ahead. I'd rather plan, make reservations and then decide to cancel or go without the rest of the group - in your situation, my first impulse would be to make it a trip (and dining) you enjoy.

See why I like this site so much!? I did not realize I had three restaurants at Animal Kingdom! I was thinking either Jiko OR Boma...so now I'll have more decisions! Yes, Princess Trisha...I don't want to waste valuable time trying to figure out where to eat while there....I've decided to make the ressies and tell DHs family the plans. If they can't do it, it's their loss. They live down there and can go any time. We live in Illinois and it's our vacation and they'll like it or leave it....:rotfl:I'm joking, I love my family...but I will make the plans and hope that they can do it. If not, we'll spend xmas with them at MILs when we get there! Thanks all for the help! I still don't know exactly what to do, but got inspired anyways! :goodvibes
