.....what would you order?

I would love to get some suggestions on what to order at some of the places we have ADRS for our trip in just a few more days!!

Also, to give you an idea of what we like to eat that would be just about everything, steak, sushi, veggies, desserts (duh):lmao: etc. Listed below are just several places we would appreciate some suggestions for. Feel free to fill in any menu items of which you have favorites at.

So, if you were me, what would you order here:
(We are on the Deluxe plan)

Brown Derby -

Flying Fish -

California Grill -

Beaches & Cream -

Grand Floridian Cafe -

Chefs de France -

Kimonos at the Swan -

Yachtsman Steakhouse -

Beaches & Cream the No Way Jose. It's a chocolate/peanutbutter sundae:earsboy:

I think everything we've ever tried at YSH was delicious.

I am so glad you recommend that one. I have been looking at exactly that on the Food Pic thread!:lovestruc It looks amazing and I am a big peanut butter lover, so I am sold on that one!

Any particular entrees at either of those two you have tried that was good? Like what kind of steak did you order?

Chefs de France - Braised Short Ribs... SOOOOO GOOD!

Yachtsman Steakhouse - Filet

The ribs, hmmmm that sounds yummy.:goodvibes

Have you ever tried the Kenyan rubbed BBQ at Jiko? They are my favorite so far as all the WDW restaurants. I never thought about the ribs at Chefs de France.

Brown Derby - Crab cake, Cobb Salad, Shortbread cheesecake

Flying Fish - Tuna tartar, Signature Snapper

Beaches & Cream - Burger, Onion rings, No Way Jose

Yachtsman Steakhouse - Filet with the side subbed out for Potato Gratin

At B&C I'd get the cheeseburger, but I've heard they've switched to a not-so-tasty multigrain bun since the last time I ate there. Nothing against multigrain buns, but I hear these just fall apart into a big mess. If they have regular burger buns, I'd get the cheeseburger again in a heartbeat.

At YSH DW gets the filet or the strip steak, and I've enjoyed the lamb. Looking at the menu, I'd probably give the ahi tuna a shot(DW is the beefeater in the fam).

We've tried GFC on our past two trips and we think it's underrated. I had a club sandwich for lunch that was great, for dinner I had the angus burger which was excellent. I think DW had the strip steak for dinner. They had cheese soup on the menu at dinner and we thought it was better than the highly touted Le Cellier version(which is also good).

We've been to CG, but it's been a long time so let's see if someone has been there recently to give you a fresh review. :earsboy:

I can't wait to start one for my own ADRs in a few months!

Of your dining choices, we have only tried Chefs de France. We all loved the onion soup, filet au poivre, and braised short ribs. My kids loved the cheese plate, I thought it was fine, but nothing special that I couldn't find at a local grocery store.

Please review when you get back!

I am looking forward to trying the Cobb at BD for sure. Do that available as an appetizer?

Thanks for your suggestions. It all sounds good.:thumbsup2

I have heard the same thing about the buns at the CS locations and I am concerned. Since we are eating at many of the signature locations this trip I really was looking for one good burger while we were there and is why I choose B&C. I really do hope they have not switched. If so I may just have to have the NWJ only!:lmao:

We are excited about trying GFC too. We are going there for lunch. I would love to get more reviews or suggestions on what to order there. I did hear they have a good burger, which may be the only burger we get if B&C is a bust. The club sandwich sounds like a possibility.

Another vote for the ribs. Hmmm, really have to consider this now. The onion soup does look yummy. I think that will have to be a for sure bet for at least one of us.

I really do appreciate everyones opinions, they mean a lot. I really look forward to trying all these new places we have never ventured before. I would hate to have a wrong choice end up with a bad taste in our mouths.:lmao:

I would to have some more recommendations. I know there have to be more of you out there that can help me!:goodvibes

Brown Derby Crab Cake, Grilled Atlantic Salmon
Grand Floridiann Cafe Onion Soup, Salmon,
Chefs de France, Onion Soup and Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet (I like this Short ribs better than the one I ordered from Jiko)
have a magical trip

I have only been to two of those so far, but this is what I would suggest:

Cali Grill- Definately the Spicy Kazan Roll for your app. It is amazing!:cloud9:
The pork tenderloin with goat cheese polenta is really good for an entree.

YSH:The Lobster Bisque is pretty good. Not the best I have ever had, but definately worth getting! For the Entree, I love the filet. DH always gets the porterhouse, and manages to eat it all!

Beaches and Cream - Roast Beef Sub with a No Way Jose for dessert. Way too much for one person though.

I haven't been to many, but:

Brown Derby - Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake!!! Both were very very good. But you need to like grapefruit in order to like the cake.

California Grill - If they have a risotto appetizer, get it! The Ostrich is really good. I always get the Valrhona Chocolate Cake for dessert.

Chefs de France - Nothing! Don't waste your time here, it was subpar for Disney!

I can only answer for 2:

California Grill - there's a fish dish for an entree with veggies in a stir fry, it was so good. the steak which they claimed was the best, was one of the worst steaks I ever had. For app: goat cheese ravioli or risotto

Grand Floridian Cafe - the pasta dish was very good, as was the burger with lobster. The lemon cheesecake is so good & they have this one at Narcoosees too, favorite dessert of the trip.

Brown Derby - DH liked the steak and I have had the grouper several times.:thumbsup2

Flying Fish - DH and I always seem to like their appies, but have not had good luck with our entrees here. The crab cakes and calamarri (sp?) are great.

California Grill - loved, loved loved the Spicy Kazaan Roll. DH liked the fatbread appie and we both enjoyed the ostrich filet.

Beaches & Cream - never been

Grand Floridian Cafe - never been

Chefs de France - DH and I love to go to Chefs for lunch and just order a bottle of wine and appies. I ususally order the cheese plate and ask for an extra one of those hard crusty rolls. DH never passes up the chance for their escargot and also enjoyes the french onion soup.

Kimonos at the Swan - never been

Yachtsman Steakhouse - Last Oct. DH and I dined here 2 times. We both have enjoyed the Porterhouse and the Ribeye (especially my hubby). On one of the visits I ordered the filet ( which I have had before) and the chef couldn't seem to figure out what med.-rare was. The first 2 times it was served to me that night, my filet was raw (It actually mooed at me). The last time it was sent to the kitchen.....it came back as a dried out burnt lump of meat. I will avoid the filet from now on, but at our servers request the manager did visit our table and more than compensated us.
The ribeye would be my first choice, the garlic smashed potatoes were awesome and they have a very nice wine list.

Wow! Another vote for the ribs :thumbsup2 Better than Jiko?? Wow! I loved the ones at Jiko, noe I will have to give these try.:goodvibes

That sundae looks amazing! Maybe I will split it with DH.

Looks like another vote for the risotto. Is it as good as the risoto at Le Cellier? We love that:love:

That burger with lobster sounds really good too.

The grouper has me thinking. I keep looking at the menu for all ears and can't figure out what I would even begin to order.

The Spicy Kazan is a definite at CG:thumbsup2

That frustrates me when you go to a steakhouse and they can't even seem to get the steak cooked the way you ordered it.:sad2: I hope we don't have the same problem you did. I am glad to hear they made it right by you though:goodvibes

Brown Derby - Appetizer: The Crab Cake Entree: NY Strip Steak

Flying Fish - Scallops

California Grill - California Roll is my favorite!

Grand Floridian Cafe - Shrimp and Prosciutto Penne Pasta

Chefs de France - Sauteed scallops and black tiger shrimp

Yachtsman Steakhouse - Filet Mignon
