Inspired by some of the threads here of what people like best, attractions/shows people miss, etc.... If YOU were an imagineer, what rides/shows would you TAKE OUT and what would you replace them with? Also, what movies or Disney themes would you like to see made into a ride or show?

I myself have to think more about it, but for starters, I would likely update Jungle Cruise to give it a bit more high-tech "shock appeal" -- after going on the Safaris at AK, this felt kind of "silly." Sorry, to those who love JC... I do like it, but it could be better.

I would also open up part of the Castle, and make it kind of like a museum, with a meet and greet area for Cinderella (like Mickey's house in Toon Town... have her room, or a library or ballroom or something, open so you feel like you went in her castle... maybe even get to go upstairs and view MK out of windows?)

I would try to find a way to make Tink a meet and greet character...

And I would probably get rid of Stitch in MK or Test Track in Epcot and make one really truly thrilling ride, not sure what I'd theme them -- maybe the coaster would be a Villains Theme at MK aka the Darkside of Disney.

I think at AK, it might be cute to have a ride reminiscint of Pooh's but themed with the Cats and Dogs and Pets of Disney (aristocats, dalmations, and more)

You know the scene in Monsters Inc with the doors on the conveyer belt that were hanging down, and Boo and Sully were having to escape from Randall on them?

I would design a coaster with the cars that hang from the tracks and look like the doors. I would put it in Fantasyland in the old 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea site they are now backfilling.

The first thing I would do is update the CANADA movie.
On the Safari ride I would have alternet endings (you never know which one youe'll get), it's a great ride but you sort of know what to expect in the terms of the "story".
I would add a Monster's Inc ride (the door one was a great idea!). Or even an Incrediables Ride...like a SUPER fast lift off (eg the HULK at US)--just like DASH.

Lilo and Stich ride sort of a rollercoaster where you hang underneath the track ride....
A mickey n Minnie love boat ride
Ajungle book swinging type ride as though you were swingin through vines....
a Donald Duck big wheel type ride....he has to flap alot to get to his destination...??!
A Chip n Dale Treehouse adventure playpark
An under the sea little mermaid log flume ride... :cool1:

sounds fun! NOW, why can't they hire us as imagineers and CEO's so this stuff can get done!?!

The Mickey n Minnie love boat ride sounds kind of cute! You could have all sorts of Disney couples in that one!

Also would love the idea of the Incredibles ride. Kind of makes me think of a ride at 6 Flags Magic Mtn. in CA -- where it climbs up slow, but then "dashes" down really fast... same idea, but in reverse!

bump...
still interested in others' ideas...

A narrated submarine ride where you tour a beautiful coral reef, get attacked by a giant squid, then discover the lost city of Atlantis.

I know that there is a Lion King show, but wouldn't a Lion King ride be great in Camp Minnie Mickey? Something like riding through the Pride Lands and escaping the hyenas--maybe the ride cars would be elephants. Also, Timon and Pumbaa (who are terribly underused) could enter in the ride somewhere--go through the story, splash through the grotto that was in the movie, avoid the rock slide, etc.

Some of the countries in Epcot need rides--that would make the Dkids happier. Surely something could be figured out that would represent each country--Maelstrom is so popular, so others could be, too. France could do an Eiffel Tower ride; England could do a water ride through their famous gardens; China could do a Mulan ride, etc.

Interesting thread.

The Lion King ride sounds fun... it reminds me of the virtual roller coaster extra on Lion King 1 1/2. Have you seen that?

I think putting the virtual safari from lLon King 1 and a half as a ride would be good. but it should actually be virtual. :rockband: :moped: :badpc: :jumping2: :thewave: :crowded: :duck: :space: :drinking1 :hyper:

Wow what wonderful ideas. I am hoping that the real imagineers are reading this thread. I really like the Mickey/Minnie Love boat idea.

There could also be a Love Bug ride where you are riding in Herbie. it could replace the pooh ride that took over for Mr Toad's Wild Ride. Still bumming about that one. Would not have to remove the tracks either.

Keep those ideas comming. Whose knows maybe the powers to be are monitering this site and can get some ideas from us.

i know i would take out it's a small world
everyone would be happy
rides to add could be:
mary poppins type ride like the carosel part
a kingdom hearts type ride
monsters inc door ride
a maze based on alice in wonderland like in paris
lilo & stitch log flume like splash mountain
add a couple more movies to TGMR
also make a ride like TGMR but instead of movies it can be disney songs
lastly add some lesser known characters like heffalumps, woozles and that mouse from dumbo

I love the idea of doing a Movie Ride type attraction using scenes from Disney movies or Disney songs.

I love this thread! Great ideas everyone! I think there definetely needs to be a Finding Nemo water ride...maybe something like bumper cars in the water like the scene with Dori and the jelly fish? I think that would be so fun. Keep the ideas coming!

Everytime I see that scene, the first thing I think about is...WHAT A RIDE!!!
It would awesome!!

a nemo themed ride at the living seas pavillion in epcot

thrill ride in world showcase...maybe a trip across the great wall of china, or something in italy.

bring back an interactive show at mgm...having guests act in tv shows, pose as newscasters, etc.

i like the lion king ride idea for animal kingdom

You guys and gals are all SO creative! Love all the ideas! I suppose there would be complaints about how much room it would take up, but inspired by a previous post, it would be kind of cool to have a roller coaster that looped through all the countries somehow, including the idea for the roller coaster in China... a "flume" type thing in Canada, but still on the coaster, and so on... and to be extra ingenious, maybe you could board the ride in a few different places... could be the world's longest coaster with two/three different boarding points? Kind of out there... but would be interesting!
