Which would you rather do at Disneyworld as a surprise:

1.) BBB (leaning towards the Barbershop though)

2.) Pirate cruise (probably the least exciting for her)

3.) Alice & Mad Hatter Tea Party (she likes Alice a lot)

4.) Family Magic Tour (she has a crush on the main guest rumored to appear at the end of the tour)

or I'm open to any other suggestions................

TIA!

No brainer for MY 5 year old DD....she'd go BBB all the way if I let her choose, but I know she'd love the Pirate Cruise and the Alice Tea Party too, but would probably enjoy those two more if she had a sibling or pal to do those with. But, you know your DD best. That said, for a surprise, I'd go BBB. Do the least expensive package, it's less than $50 (she'll get hair & make-up and take your own outfit to save big $$), and she'll be thrilled. The whole ordeal is just magical for a little girl, IMO. Good luck!

I know that my almost 5yr old would prefer the tea party! But, you know your child best. We did BBB last year, she loved it but hasn't asked to do it again.

My 5.5 yo DD would also choose the tea party.

She did BBB last year at 4.5 and thought it was just ok. When I asked her if she wanted to do it again she said no thanks.

I know my DD would love both the BBB & the Tea Party.

Here's my next question:

We already have breakfast ressies for 1900 Park Fare. Would this experience be similar to the Tea Party?

Also, with BBB........

We go in Sept & ALWAYS take an afternoon break / swim. I would hate to spend all that $ on BBB to have her want to swim right afterwards if we made the appt. in the morning. If we made the appt late afternoon, the parks close so early in Sept, would it be worth it??? KWIM?

Is she a "girly" girl? In other words would she prefer to wear a princess dress and "clicky shoes" or have an "adventure" in the park? Or is she the kind of girl that would prefer a tea party...even if she knew the guest list would be MUCH larger than just her and Alice and the other characters?

Me, I was the kind that hated dresses and would have been disappointed that "my" tea party had all these other kids there...making it not much different than another character meal.

So, I would have preferred the Family Magic Tour. We did it 2 years ago and loved it! There was enough "silliness" to appeal to the children and enough "new facts about Disney" to appeal to the adults. The best part was adult or kid...we were all kids for the day! The small autograph session with the characters was priceless and allowed for lots of interaction and then we went somewhere with the characters and it was LOTS of fun too!

Lastly, I agree about the Pirate Cruise. My DS loved it, but it was mostly boys that went on it.

My dd went with the Tea party as her favorite for the trip when she was 5. She still laughs about it and wants to go again this fall even though she will be 8. She loved it that they "kicked out" the parents and the jokes they told.

We are trying the family magic tour for the first time so I cannot comment on that one. The pirate cruise was alright, she liked it when she did it in October from the beach club.

So I am voting the tea party!

You sound like me. I was not a girly girl, but a total Tomboy. My DD is a total girly girl and would love the get your hair done thing, etc. I'm pretty sure she would prefer BBB over all 3 of the experiences. However, the whole heat of Sept / swim thing really has me thinking if it is worth it.

I've never been on the Family Magic Tour, but I'm guessing she would love the special guest at the end.

Decisions, decisions.............

Maybe we should do both! :thumbsup2

Ok, should I do all 3 :rotfl2:

I'm soooo confused!!!!

Why not!!!! LOL! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

You can do the barbershop, then the family magic tour at MK. Later on your trip have her do the Tea party while your Dh and you relax at the GF while you wait.

I looked at the family magic tour but my Dh isnt really into being silly, but DD can get grandma to be silly so we are doing it on our girls trip.

My daughter favorite surprise on her first Disney vacation (2 weeks before 6th birthday) was the Tea Party at the Grand Floridian. It is hosted by Aurora. My DH stayed at our resort while we had Mom-Daughter time. Of course, Sleeping Beauty is her favorite princess. This is expensive, but we splurged, as it was the only way to guarantee a meeting with Aurora.

Mine wouldwant BBB.

What is the family Magic tour? How much is it and where can I find more about it?

Tea Party. My DD did Libby Lu, similar to BBB, when she was 5 and while she had fun, she wasn't stoked about it.

My DD4 absolutely loved getting all made up at BBB. She loved all the fuss being made over her. She came out looking really cute. The pictures we got afterwards are worth what we paid for BBB.

We took the Family Magic Tour. It is a lot of fun, but the character interaction at the end was pretty short.

I had to look up what the family magic tour was too. you can find a listing of all the backstage magic tours here on wdwinfo.com I've included the link for you

Looks like alot of fun! If my girls were to choose they'd choose all of the above lol...

My DD would hands down choose BBB. If you are worried about a mid-day break, how about swimming in the morning? Then doiBBB early afternoon, followed by lunch in castle or "princess activities" in MK, like meeting Ariel in grotto, Belle's Storytime, stage show at castle, parade, etc., etc. -- monorail to GF and dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Sounds like a perfectly princess (but short) day to me -- and my DD-within 1 month of 6 -- would be thrilled!

My girls loved the BBB - would love the tea party (which from what I understand is NOTHING like 1900 park fare - that is just a character meal while the tea party is just that - a tea party), I know they would not like the cruise & I know nothing about this Fmily Tour.

I just ask my DD6 and she said that she loved the BBB and this was great! She also added that the Tea party would be her choice of the above!

I would let her pick, but I think you already answered your own question. You said the pirate thing would be the least fun for her and she loves Alice.... tea party seems a no brainer.
