I've wanted to do this the past two years and then it completely slips my mind until its too late.
So thanks now I am registered and hopefully can go.
Anyone go before what was it like.
As fun as the promo video shows? lol

I wasn't lucky enough to get tickets last year, but I went the year before. I think it's more fun to go earlier. If you get the later slots, then it's more crowded and some of the more popular acts aren't there anymore. However I heard that last year, they were telling people to leave at a certain time, which is different than the year I went. Once you were on the lawn, you could stay as long as you want. It's definitely a good time, maybe not quite as fun as the promo video though I think it's just neat being so close to the White House. Weather also plays a big role. It's usually pretty cold still.
Notification will be March 4. Last year it was for the time frame of your roll. You entered at 9:30 left at 11:30 grounds cleared then the next group was allowed in. I really did not feel it was good as before but maybe it will be better this year. There is also a website to order the eggs it's listed on www.whitehouse.gov/eastereggroll/
I want to sign up, but I have a question for those of you that have attended. It says it's for ages 12 and under. I have a DD that's 13, if we go would she be able to go with us and just not participate or would she not be allowed in with us at all?
well at least an online lottery is more fair than making everyone wait in line for tickets. This way people from across the country have a chance to go.

back when i lived in DC they restricted this to military children i don't know if it is good or not that it has opened back up to everyone, i kind of thought it was a nice gesture to the military kids, but good luck!
The problem is, although you can 6 request tickets, you can only ask for 2 of those to be adult tickets. So if you have a child older than 12, what do you do? My DD will be literally days away from turning 13, and we've never been. I'm keeping our fingers crossed that we get in!!!
I'm so jealous. We didn't get it. And my husband is such a president fanatic (he collects all things presidential), I was going to give it as a birthday present to him. I'm bummed . . .
