Last night was the visitation for DMIL (December99's mom). How shocked and touched we all were when Dopeygirl, BriSully, KimRaye, and Dan Murphy came in to the funeral home in that small, remote Illinois town. What a wonderful surprise that meant so very much to all of us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It was great to see all of you!
As a funny aside, at the end of the visitation hours we were all (DW, DSD, me, and our four DIS friends) sitting in the back parlor/lounge of the funeral home together and December99 suggested that we all better go so that the funeral director could close up for the night (this was 15 or 20 minutes after the scheduled end of visitation). DSD then, pipes up, "yeah, this isn't a DIS meet so we can't stay here all night!" LOL.
Once again, these boards and the people who participate in them have been an immense and overwhelming support during a very difficult time. Thanks for being such good friends.
I'm sure December99 will be on in the near future to give a much longer account of the many DIS friends from whom we have heard from outside these boards, including the large number of Chicago area DIS friends who sent their condolences (and generous contributions to the memorial fund) with the DISers who made the trip out last night. I feel so blessed to be part of such a wonderful community.
