Hi,
I am using both the DDP and DDE. DDE for appetizers and drinks....as well as at the bar.

BE CAREFUL....Everyone rings it up different. Sometimes they add the tip on....sometimes they don't.

Last night at Narcosee's they actually added the tip on to my DDP as well as my DDE portion.,

At Hollywood n Vine....CM just gave me my bill with no place for tip.....he said he forgot....I was like are you kidding....most people won't ask you twice.

I was very aware to make sure everyone got their due tip....but it is very confusing to use both cards.
Really threw me off that my DDP had the tip added 2x.

Biggest annoyance though....I feel bad for the poor CM's. I was waiting for a table at WCC.....in that time went to the bar at Artists Point for a few drinks.

They need a MANAGER...EVERY time the card is used.....definately drives the CM's nuts.
Anyhoo....I'm having a great time:goodvibes

Silly question, but why do you do both?

No not silly....Well hard to explain the way DH's brain works;) If I get DDP he orders what he wants...and dosen't look at the price. ;) If I didn't have the DDP he would be looking to "Chicken Chow MeiN" it all the time.

Makes no sense....I know but if it is "prepaid".....it works better in his head.
I get the DDE card as well because it saves us money on the alcohol bill:dance3: :rolleyes1
And now with the DDP not having app's it is even better. I know we actually still saved money with the plan.....especially with the snack credits at F&W fest.:goodvibes
Off to Animal Kingdom and then Boma for dinner:woohoo:

So you use DDP for the meal and then DDE for the alcohol at the same meal? How much is the DDE?

The Tables in Wonderland Card (DDE) is available to FL Residents ($85) and Annual Passholders ($60). It gives you a 20% discount on dining & beverages as most table service locations. It can also be used at the counter service location in resorts that don't have table service dining.

alldiz can you give an example of what the receipt SHOULD look like or what will happen when using the DDE and a TS credit at a restaurant please?
We are on the DDP (deluxe) and I will be purchasing the TIW card when we arrive since we are going again in March.
Thanks

If you use the TIW card, it says on the receipt "20% Tables In Wonderland Discount" and lists the amount.
At at TS restaurant, it will also list "18% gratuity" and list that amount.
Much to my surprise, when I bought some grocery items at Artist's Pallette, the CM saw my TIW card in my lanyard holder and told me to get it out and he would give me the 20% discount. I hope that it works that way all the time!!!

From the list of participating locations:
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort – The Artist Palette; The Turf Club Bar & Grill

Like PP said it will show you your discount and then the automatic 18% discount. Narcosee's last night added the tip to my DDP as well....and didn't mention it.
Some of the bartenders forgot to push the tip button.
I'm just saying pay attention.....cause you don't want to double tip or miss tipping someone who deserves it.

I love WLV......It's a great day here....just back from M.K....off to the pool before dinner at Boma:goodvibes

How many people are in your party? I know from reading that the DDP automatically adds 18% for parties of 6 or more. Maybe that was why they got confused. I am like you, we always want to tip, but don't want to tip 2x:goodvibes

With the TIW (DDE) they are supposed to automatically add the 18% tip regardless of party size, but items not covered by the DDP should be on a separate bill. Or, at least that's the way they used to do it.

There were 2 of us:confused3 Like I said.....I just happened to notice that they added the 18% to my DDP portion. I know they add it to the TIW portion....but not the DDP part automatically.

Yes it was on a separate bill.....then I looked at my DDP bill and noticed the tip was on there as well.

I am glad that you noticed! We only use the DDE or TIW card, but I know our last trip was a challenge when we received the bill. The 18% was already added, but I think our natural response when handed a credit card receipt in a restaurant is to "add the tip", so we had to remember that it was already added. Of course, sometimes we added more, when we had outstanding service. Thanks for the tip to check:)

OK. I'm confused. What is this TIW card? Did they change the name of the DDE program recently?:confused3

DH feels like they are limiting the tip when they automatically add the 18%. He is one who usually tips 20%, but he wont add to the 18% when it's automatic. He would rather CHOOSE if the service warranted a tip like that or not. While we have never had bad service at any of the Disney table service places, we WOULD like the option to choose the amount ourselves.

When we were there in Sept I always told the server before we ordered that we had both the DDP and TIW card so they could do two bills and not have to sort them out later. It worked quite well except for the fact we had two families eating and sorting out the individual portions of the bill was a pain - We will not do this again. I think we will probably stick to the TIW card and forget the DDP in the future.

I agree.....I don't add to the 18% unless service is outstanding.....but I would normally tip a solid 20%.....just seems wierd adding a few dollars.

I told them about both cards.....and they separate the bill....but it is confusing because they don't mention about the tip.

UPDATE...
Last night at Ohana's they did it again. Split the bill in 2...ie DDP and TIW.
Then proceeded to add the tip onto my DDP as well....and NOT say anything.
I always question while they are still standing there....but she was about to walk away and not say a word:sad2:

I love the TIW card....but they make it a pain to use. Most CM's need to get a manager to run the card.(in the lounges)...this is ridiculous....holds me up...and Wastes the CM's time.:confused3
Last night in Ohana my family went to the table while I settled the bill. By the time I got to the table...the Salad, Lo mein, Potstickers, vegetables and chicken wings were on the table:scared1: :lmao:
Seriously...I don't remember them throwing everything out at once.....It was delicious though.
