If you tip extra on DDP how much do you tip?

I like to leave an extra $5, $10-15 for really helpful service. OF course, 18% is fair enough when the waiter was somewhat less that helpful.

I have always wondered if Disney would ever consider an option on the tip section, just to keep some control for the dining patron. This not to hurt anyone, but to reward the truly wonderful waitstaff that we have encountered. I would still leave extra cash, but was frustrated at times when I received poor service that still received 18%.

How do you know how much the servers get from the plan? We'll be using it for the first time in December.... Thanks!

IN my opinion if you are getting the dining plan for free I can see leaving an extra tip as you didn't pay for the actual plan. I myself always tip 20%. But we did pay for our dining plan and I have to say I think the 18% is very acceptable. If you had exceptional over the top service I can see a little extra but I really feel 18% is acceptable as most of the meals are quite pricey to begin with and therefore the tip is usually generous. Just my opinion however.

I have to agree with rdsx28. I spoke with our server at crystal palace who said she likes the DDP because she is guaranteed the 18%. She said that not all people are good tippers and she does not always get 18% from every table. :sad1:
