The waitlist policy is becoming much more restrictive on Feb 1st. So if you are considering a reservation that may require a waitlist in anyway you should look into it before Sunday, Feb 1st.

Get those waitlists in while you can!

Come Feb 1 you can only have 2 active waitlists going per your UY.

A waitlist is any consecutive days for any room type. 2 bedroom Lock-off and dedicated are each considered a room type and individual waitlists. The different views are each considered a different room type.

I wish I had enough points to worry about this. Unfortunately I am in the 150 club so it is not an issue.

For those of you who this is an issue for I wish you extra pixie dust pixiedust: and hopefully DVC management will get their head out of the sand and start thinking next time they put a policy in effect.

This change will affect everyone.

Example: (This may be the most extreme in number of room type but gets the point across)
If you wanted a studio at AKV, any studio, but they were full. Did you know there were 9 different studio room types at AKV? You would only be able to waitlist for 2. You would have to pick 2 that you think had the greatest chance of coming though and could not just waitlist for what ever is available first.

Or if you just wanted any 2 bedroom at WDW... You would have to pick 2 room types. A likely choice would be SSR 2 bedroom lock-off and SSR 2 bedroom dedicated since it would be the most available. After that came in then you could waitlist for BCV 2 bedroom lock-off and BCV 2 bedroom w/queen and sleeper sofa in the second bedroom (but not enough choices to waitlist for the BCV 2 bedroom w/ 2 Queens in the second bedroom).

Well, yes and no.

I tend to only waitlist at OKW or SSR. I try to book stays I want at the BCV and AKV in the 11 to 10 month period and te only "waitlist" I have even tried was for a concerige, which was a waste of time.

This will be moved, but it occurs to me... this is MORE ammuntion AGAINST the numerous "locations" at SSR!

I guess when I said everyone, I was responding to the PP and that it would affected the small point owner as well as the large.

You are correct about the booking categories at SSR. This policy change would make the booking categories not as attractive an option as before.

So, are you telling me that you can't just waitlist "preferred view one bedroom" at BWV? You would have to waitlist " non-dedicated one bedroom preferred view"?

This is making me NOT regret the 50 point add on at AKV, (our only contract owned there), instead of putting those 50 on at the BW(where we own the most of our points), which I did regret after they lost their minds and changed the points allocation starting 2010.

I am now glad that I have these 50, because it allows me to book three nights (or more if I bank a few), at 11 months out.

This is the key.....11 months out, and I'm definitely an 11 month out planner:thumbsup2

The one bedrooms are not sub-divided into lock-off and dedicated, so that would just be one waitlist. However if you wanted to Waitlist for BWV boardwalk view one bedroom and preferred garden/pool view one bedroom that would be 2 waitlists.

I posted a list of what I came up with for all the possible room type combinations on the original waitlist thread.

Oh, thanks for the clarification. I'll check out the other thread.

I can only think of 6 studio types at AKV (and that assumes you are considering Jambo House and Kidani units separately):

Jambo - Value
Jambo - Standard
Jambo - Savanna View
Jambo - Concierge
Kidani - Standard
Kidani - Savanna View

What are the other 3?

For some reason I believe the studios at Jambo are also broken down into dedicated and lock-off. I don't believe this is true at any other resort.

Jambo Savannah View Dedicated
Jambo Savannah View Lock-off
Jambo Standard View Dedicated
Jambo Standard View Lock-off
Jambo Value Dedicated
Jambo Value Lock-off
Concierge
Kidani Savannah View
