do they mark the cabana with your name or place a 'reserved' sign so people know its reserved and you know which cabana is reserved for you?

Editing to prevent misinformation going forward. Clarification in post #5.

Poly no longer has cabanas for rent.

Edited to add: Cabanas at resort pools can be reserved at GF and CR, according to the WDW site.

I booked a cabana at Poly - they have them by the Oasis pool although from the appearance it doesnt look like what they have at GF or CR. :)

I recently read a blog from someone who visited in the Jan-Feb timeframe and stated the cabanas were once again first-come, first-served, at no additional cost, so I figured they had ended the rentals. Did some additional google-searching and found mixed reports, so I'll defer to anyone who's been there more recently than I have.

I'm pretty sure this is only the case if the cabana is not rented. If rented, it's absolutely not the case.

The cabanas are "roped off" so to say and there is also a placard. The placard either has "Reserved for XXXX" on it or "To Reserve, Call XXXXX." I never saw them just "available" to anyone when not reserved.

These photos will help. Info accurate as of Feb 2017.

As you can see, they are "roped" off on three sides. The couch blocks the "back."

Info from Tikiman as of November 2016:

Rates start at $26.36 (including tax) for a half day, with time blocks running from 10am to 2pm and 3pm to 7pm. A full day rental from 10am to 7pm is available for $42.60. Seasonal price adjustments apply.

Each covered patio offers a couch, coffee table, and three padded chairs. No other amenities (bottled water, fruit, snacks, refrigerator, TV, private wait staff) are included in the rental fee.

Reservations can be made by calling Disney Vacation Club Member Services or 407-WDW-PLAY.

Thanks. I am well aware of the information that was announced by multiple sources in the November timeframe. It was the info I read about the Jan-Feb timeframe that made me think Disney had canned the idea along with the MK cabanas. I clearly stand corrected (thought that was obvious in the part of my post you decided not to quote).
