If you put down your own aisle petals at the WP...

... how do they get cleaned up after the ceremony?

I'm assuming if you're not using Disney Floral (we're not), then the practical choice is *not* to put down any aisle petals because you'd have to have some way to clean them up afterwards. I mean, if they won't lay down your aisle runner, they're certainly not going to come in and clean up a bunch of petals, right?

Has anyone dealt with this situation? TIA! :goodvibes

I would like to know about this as well. Anyone know? Their petals are very expensive so we were considering fakes! :scared1:

Disney cleans up the petals—there's no charge even if you did put them down yourself. :thumbsup2

Although you can use fake petals inside the Wedding Pavilion, you might look into freeze-dried petals at a place like www.flyboynaturals.com. You can buy in bulk and they are cheaper than fresh petals but look as good.

We put down our own rose petals for my wedding (well a friend put them down, we were a little busy that morning). We ordered ours through fiftyflowers.com. I would highly recommend them. They are really cheap and fresh rose petals in many different colors. Ours were delivered the friday before our monday wedding and you would never know they were delivered 3 days before. Just make sure you have a refrigerator to put them in.

Thanks so much, Carrie. I'm pleasantly surprised to hear this! :goodvibes

i thought you got charged for the clean up or something? like i thought i saw/read that you would get charged if you didn't roll up and take away your aisle runner and all that.... i've got every fake pink rose petal in the greater DFW from all the after valentines day sales last year.......

Bleh...my floral partner said I could not use fake flower petals inside the WP.
She said that they are concerned the fake petals will blow outside of the WP and would harm the animals. ?????

Is this incorrect?

My floral planner also said she'd charge me $50.00 to put down an aisle runner, but when I stated that I heard from other brides that they were charged $25.00 for the set up fee she emailed me stating: "Fine. I'll honor that price."

....I might be getting bad info, but when I checked a few months ago I was told I couldn't use fake petals. :confused3

How typically-confusing of Disney! :sad2: I wonder what the "official" policy is?

This is all really confusing. I was told I could use fake petals as long as I was getting Married in the Wedding Pavilion and as long as all flowers stay inside the building due to safety hazard for outside animals.

However when asked if I could pay to have them clean up after wards was told they would not do clean up the rose petals, that someone from the bridal party would have to do it.

Really wish we had a straight answer.

Oh my gosh ... why can't they just have one constant policy and all give the same answer to everyone?? I mean, it would make things easier on them, too -- they wouldn't have to hear brides saying, "well, so-and-so is only paying x amount -- why am i paying more?" etc. They need to set a policy and let everyone know what it is! :headache:

DF and I are getting married in May at SBP. We haven't been designated our planner yet nor have we spoken to disney floral. Does anyone know if the freeze dried petals from flyboynaturals can be used at SBP?? I can only imagine how much disney charges for petals on the aisle.

Yes, as long as they are natural petals, you can use them at an outdoor location. However, because Disney will not be providing them, you will need to designate someone to scatter them.
