If you modify a reservation (e.g. go from three people in a stateroom to two people in a room) and the rates for that room have gone up since you reserved it, do you need to make a whole new reservation at the higher rate or can the travel agent make an adjustment based on the initial lower rate? Has anyone done this for the 14 day Panama canal trip?

I think it depends on who the lead person on the ressie is. If the lead person drops out then you'll need a new ressie, and probably at the new higher rate. If the lead person is staying then you can modify the amount and even the other people with little problem...Mark

I was wondering the same thing....going from a single to sharing with someone. Thanks for the info.

Nancy, I just added someone to our August 04 cruise and had to pay the current price for the additional person.

I did this yesterday.....I originally had 2 adults in a Cat 9 for the CA to FL cruise that I booked on Wed. Yesterday I called DCL and changed one name on the ressie plus added a third adult. My original 2 people rate didn't change...they just added the third person......which brought the whole price of the cabin up by $1,100. I asked if the original rate changed and he said no...it just cost $1,100.00 for the 3rd person rate...which is higher than normal for a third person rate but not out of line for 14 days....IMO. We are just totaling the cabin and dividing by 3 for a price per person rate.
