If you modify a reservation are the points taken the same way as original reservation?

I have 2 contracts. One is unrestricted for Riviera points(300) and the other cannot be used at Riviera(100). I would like to use as many of my restricted points as possible. As of now for my 20221 UY I have 443 points(143 which are banked) on my unrestricted contract and 100 points which are on my restricted contract for a total of 543 available points without borrowing any. I would not be against borrowing 50 points from the unrestricted contract. I am looking at a July 2022 booking but it may have to change to August 2022. So could I use my 143 borrowed points first, then my 100 point contract, borrow 50 points from 100 point contract and then finish the reservation with my 300 point contract? If I have to change it I would want to use the points the same way. Can this be done online at the website or do I need to call MS to set it up like this and if it needs to be modified do I have to call again. TIA

If you want to use more restricted first, just be sure it’s checked first when you book.

It will always take banked points first, no matter the contract…unless you were booking RIV…it will use up all the current points…then let you borrow from either…

It will not let you borrow points, though, as long as you are using both contracts to book, until all current points are used.

The only way around it is to book only with the restricted contract first, use the 100 and borrow the 50 points to book some nights.

Then go in, modify, pick up the rest of the trip, by choosing both, with the 100 point chosen as first again . It will now take the banked, the borrowed, then the 100 and finish up with the 300.
