If You Have Requested a Specific Site

I regularly see threads asking what the best site in loop #xxx is. In the past I have requested a specific site and never once has it been assigned to me. One time we didn't even get in the loop of the site I had requested.

So I'm wondering, how many of you have requested a specific site and actually gotten it? Do I just have rotten luck?

We did not get our requested loop during our trip in March during a slow time. It is what it is.

I requested site 1446 in November. I got 1462 instead. However, the occupants on 1446 were loading up. I called the front office and asked about it and they said I could move to it whenever they left. So I justed stayed hooked up and packed and moved first thing the next morning.

I don't even bother requesting a specific site on my reservation. The odds of that particular site being available on my exact arrival day at the time I pull up (they may not have checked out yet) are long odds indeed. My requests are kept to loops and I usually get the request or an adjacent loop (and I ride through my requested and sure enough there are no empties).

However I do have a couple site numbers in mind for each of favorite loops (1500, 900, 100 depending on what type site I reserved) and when sitting at the window or in the lobby and getting my requested loop, I will push the envelope "just a little" and ask if any of my faves are also available and if so can I be moved to them. I will keep any site in my requested loop, sure, and if I can get a fave, so much the better. But I will keep it to like 3 sites at most because I don't want to whip out my list of 150 sites ranked 1-to-150 and go through them and hold up the line.

It holds true that any site at the Fort is a good site. (Just some are 'gooder' than others).
