a five or six bedroom villa, which community would you prefer for proximity to WDW? Any budget and reputable site reccommendations? Any past experiences that you would care to comment on would, as always, be much appreciated!!

We're planning for next January/February for two weeks, 6 adults, 3kids under 6, and one infant...planning on experiencing WDW, US/IOA and SeaWorld...parks in the morning, early afternoon, then back to the villa for some pool/jacuzzi/nap time.

We're DVC owners, and are a little spoiled:p by staying on site, but budget is an issue for this trip, so renting points is not an option...yet!!(I'm workin' on it!!) We're just really trying to get costs nailed down right now...

Thanks!!:sunny:

We've stayed in Hampton Lakes. It's in Davenport, the drive was 15-17 minutes to Disney parking lot. It was very quiet. I found the rates there to be less than some of the closer communities. Enough so to justify the 15 minute drive. We've also rented in Emerald Isle, which was only a few minute drive. Nice, but the 3 bedroom there was the same price as the 5 bedroom in Hampton Lakes. Both were equally nice, with the exception of the pool. The 5 bedroom home had a larger pool.

We're staying in a 6 bedroom house this upcoming Dec. with 8 adults and 3 children. We looked to rent directly from the owners and found a 6 bedroom house in Oak Island Cove. There are several neighborhoods in this general area, including Windsor Palms where we stayed in a 3 bedroom condo last Nov. Other neighborhoods that are nearby are Indian Creek & Sunset Lakes as well as Emerald Island. I believe prices will tend to be a bit more for Windsor Palms and Emerald Island because those are resorts with some additional amenities where the others are regular neighborhoods. For being close to Disney, I don't think you can beat these locations!

There may be other neighborhoods that are more centrally located for Disney/Universal/Sea World, but for just Disney the ones listed above are great.

Indian Creek and Rolling Hills are just opposite one another on Formosa Gardens Boulevard. Closer to the 192 (but only by 200 yards or so) is Formosa Gardens.

We stayed at Indian Creek last October in a lovely 6 bed home. There seem to be lots of the same style - either 5 bed with a breakfast nook, or 6 bed where the breakfast nook is a bedroom -on the development at very good prices.

It is perfectly located for Disney and easy access to the I4. We'll definitely stay there again if it's available when we go next.

We actually booked through an agent in the UK but I found this site whilst browsing wistfully a couple of days ago!

great tips for narrowing down "neighbourhoods"!!:sunny:

Off to search!!
