Ok so I went to disney and used the DDP. At the end of our last day I had 2 snack credits left, so I picked up a DoleWhip Float and the Wife got a Cookie. If you do things correctly you can us every credit.

Hints if you have 2 adults and 2 kids:
Use 2 counter sevice and 2 snack for breakfast. This provides plenty of food.
Use 2 counter Service and 2 snacks for Lunch. This provides plenty of food.
Use 4 Table Service for Dinner. This provides way too much food :thumbsup2 .

My parents used a similar idea for them and ended up with 4 snack creidts at the end of 7 days. They spent these on snacks for the trip home.

So if you have leftovers you arbn't trying hard enough :rotfl:

I agree...We went in May 2005 when the DDP first came out. I had everything planned out and we used every credit. We did end up with 6 snack credits left on our last day and we used them for mickey rice krispies to bring home for friends.

I don't understand how people can come home with unused credits:confused3 you are paying for it so you may as well use it.

We went this past August and never paid oop for anything. However we still ended up on our last day with 6 CS and 16 Snacks left. Non of us were hungry in the morning for breakfast. We typically ate lunch and supper and ended up splitting some counters because we were still not that hungry. We did use our snack credits at the goofy store and look snacks home with us and then used our counters for our last day.

Quick question

I'm going with the DDP 2A's and 2c's
so you order kids meals for the breakfast?
or lunch? is there a difference on the cards for CS credits?
It will be my first time on DDP so any ideas are helpful

thanks

There is no difference on the cards between adults and Children. I did use I adult and 1 child for lunch. I also used 1 Adult for Breakfast. The other child was 2 so we only had the 1 child credit per day. Next time we will have 2 adults and 2 children and I see no problem using all of the credits.

We would often buy an extra milk of juice for lunch so that the 2 year old would not scream when he had to share his drink.

We just got back and this was our first time using the dining plan. We used one snack and one counter service for breakfast. I like to eat light for breakfast (bagel, muffin or oatmeal) and my husband had the breakfast platter.
For lunch we shared a counter service burger, chicken strips etc, and just bought and extra drink.
For dinner each night we used our 2 table service credits.
The remainder of our snack credits we bought pop corn and I bought caramel apples to bring home.
This worked great for us, we had plenty of food, but because we ate light for breakfast and lunch we could enjoy our dinner without feeling stuffed.

Is Dole whips something new provided on the snack menu? When I was there in february I had to pay out of pocket for it. Worth it, but it would have been nice to use my snack credit!

I agree about using all the credits. I didn't plan each credit before the trip but I did pay attention to how things were working as we got about half way through and used our credits accordingly.

There was a major change in what is available under the snack credit option as of May 1, I believe. There is a sticky thread at the top of this forum listing items that people have seen available as a snack since the change. From my experience everything is clearly marked with the DP logo that is a snack option and the choices are endless (my fav by far was the dole whip float!).

We had about 16 snack credits & 6 CS credits on the last day of our trip. We were driving home to MA so we loaded up in DTD before we left. Early of Sandwiches for the ride and lots of snackie goodies too. I'll be darned to let them keep my credits/money when I can take it with me :thumbsup2

!@#$%^&!!!!

We had two snack credit left on checkout day. Fully planned to get something at the BC Marketplace for the flight home before we left for the airport. Forgot to hit the store and there was no going back. Drat! Disney got the best of us!!!! Not really, we ate over $1,100 worth of food for the less than $800 we spent on the plan.

Nes........it is not difficult to use all your credits.

For our family, it was an added part of the trip to see how "Successful" the plan was for us. We did have counter service and snack credits remaining at the end of the trip. We just couldn't finish it all BUT we drive, so we packed up on food for the remaining credits and had enough food for the trip home. It is all my DH heard all the way up 95. Another meal, compliments of Disney!!!!!

I did a 15 day solo trip this september on the free dining, and had no unused credits at the end of the holiday. I had several really nice smoothies with the snack credits and a dole float (didn't like that so much). The only food I paid out of pocket for was CRT and Victoria and Albert's (must not do wine paring next time I don't drink often and it went straight to my head)

We went for 8 days on the free dining and on our last day we had left over snacks as well, so we went to Downtown Disney and got stuff from Goofy's Candy Company for the trip home, we got:
Chocolate Dipped Puenut Butter (like an oreo cookie, but with Penut Butter Filling) Cookie
Chocolate dipped Marshmallow
Chocolate Dipped rice Crispie treat
All with toppings, these were all custom made as well.
We also got Rock Candy while we were there.

somehow we had 12 snack credits left so we loaded up on bags of Goofy candy to bring home. In the beginning I paid OOP for 2 breakfasts that I should have used CS for but I was not sure how we would end up. so I had 3 CS left b/c we shared so much. I still felt like we ate our way thru the World!

Snack credits are easy to get rid of on checkout. However, DH and I were both ill in August and we had to forfit 2 counter credits in the middle of our stay (we stayed 2 weekends on free dining, and a 9 night stay on DVC points-paid for plan). Believe me, as a result of the illnesses we ended up doing a lot of signatures.
