Please tell me where you live. We might be looking to relocate to a warmer climate in about a year and a half, but with all the "there's a snake in my house" threads, I'm starting to think maybe the Northern Minnesota long, cold winters aren't so bad after all... :rotfl:

I've lived in Texas and Louisiana, didn't like it much so those probably aren't even options for us, but we were still hoping for something southern. Doesn't need to be completely snake free, just mostly. :thumbsup2

So, all you snake people... where do you live, so I know where NOT to move?

I live in NE PA and I've had a snake in my living room, many in my garage & tons outside!

Buffalo NY believe it or not, had a snake try to get in my moms kitchen through the garage :scared1::eek:

I have pics of the 5-foot black snake on my driveway this summer but I think you'd all faint! They were everywhere, I was terrified to go outside!

My husband found a snake in our basement. He thinks it crawled out of the sewer drain. :scared1:

Never had a snake inside the house. In seven years, have only seen one in the yard. Of course, I wasn't exactly looking to find any.... ;)

We've had a cat bring one in.....and seen quite a few outside over the years.
But they are small and non-poisonous.
We're rural though, so we get lots of things

Clermont, FL -- but none in the house.

Little brown snake on my sidewalk by front porch a couple of weeks ago. It side-winded into the vines .. ewww ... no markings on it. I got online and I think it was what they call a "brown snake" (imagine!) Seems they are harmless.

Still didn't like it.

I saw a black snake a couple of years ago, but mockingbirds were routing it out of the yard! :rotfl2:

Dh found one in the garage-- he was actually backing out and saw is go in before the door went down! Have also found a couple in the yard- we have a heavily wooded back yard. There haven't been any IN the house but our exterminator has found several snakeskins UNDER the house (we have a crawl space).

If one were to ever get IN the house I would have to move.

I lived in DFW for 3 yrs and saw 2 snakes. And believe me I LOOKED for them.

I moved back to MO last yr and saw 2 snakes within the week I was back.:lmao:

I've lived in GA and FL all my life - never had a snake! Roaches on the other hand.... ICK!

If I lived in the south I would have to get a mongoose as a pet. Who else remember Riki Tiki Tavi?

Fla here all my life LOL

Have had them in the barn & once in the house :scared1: But they were just black snake's and a corn snake about 4' maybe 5'

When we started our house and mowing down brush & such I seen a few Rattlesnakes. Then when we went to clean out the grass pond found a few water moccasin.

We had just did our stem wall foundation and as I was walking off the top of it a 3' to 4' water moccasin was laying there in the sun :scared1::scared1:

So off to the truck for the handy shotgun but that snake took a few years off my life.

Ron.

Aw, just buy yourself a couple of long nozzle C02 fire extinguishers and keep them charged. You can use the propellant to stun the snake long enough to pick it up with a broom and move it outside (or dispatch it with something without it wriggling or biting.) May or may not kill it, but either way you can do it from a fairly safe distance.

See now -- you can move anywhere you like!

Another Buffalo NY here (well the suburbs). I have only had the 1 in my car-- and my MIL (same area) has had 2 get into her house.

San Jose, California - Not a snake in sight. But the housing prices are ridiculously high!!!!!
