If you had to select three sit down meals at DL...

My top 3 are blue bayou, Ariel's either for woc or princesses, ans storytellers. But I have to have carnation cafe for lunch at least once. We love sit downs, since my dd and I have mostly gone by ourselves, and I like the chance to be waited on.

For those of you that mentioned Storytellers.... do you prefer breakfast, lunch, or dinner? I know breakfast gives you character dining and lunch and dinner do not. We are staying at the GCH so we can really do any time of day and it is not critical that we do the character meal since we are doing Goofy's Dinner while there. Any thoughts on which meal is actually better?? TIA!

We are taking two boys ages 6 and 9 for their first visit next month. Anyplace you recommend for dining that we might get to meet more *boy, type characters ???

Storytellers had Chip and Dale, the bears from Brother Bear, and Gepetto from Pinocchio. It was very boy friendly. Honestly, I think all the character breakfast buffets are good for both boys and girls.

We enjoyed the food at breakfast at Storytellers over the breakfasts at Surf's Up, Goofy's or Minnie's at the Plaza. If you are going to do a breakfast, I think it is a good choice. If breakfast isn't your thing, and you don't care about the character interaction (my family loves it!!), go for lunch or dinner, but it is a better breakfast than some of the other choices. IMO

Another option is to have a quick snack for breakfast and then the latest time for the Breakfast with Minnie & Friends...that's what I am doing on the next trip to get the character interaction and the buffet meal without giving up the relatively empty early entry hours in the park.

Probably won't really eat lunch after that either!

My suggestion for a character meal would be Minnie's at the Plaza Inn. You can get an early reservation during a Magic Morning. This way you won't miss any park time. The amount of characters are significantly greater at this experience than any other. Storytellers will have four characters, while Minnie will have a dozen at least.

Agreed. Minnie's at the Plaza Inn is incredible. We are a Crystal-Palace-8am-breakfast-on-Day-1 type of WDW family, and Minnie's plays that role for us at DL.

The character wranglers there were great! When we got there we saw Captain Hook doing his rounds but we must've missed him because he disappeared. My son really wanted to meet him so we approached the CM in charge of the characters for our room and asked if he would be returning. She said he was on break and might be returning in about 15 min. We were finishing our breakfast when peeking around the corner was Captain Hook! The CM brought Hook right up to our table! It was so wonderful! The CM made my son's day! So I highly recommend Minnie and Friends for everyone.

A similar thing happened to us with Winnie the Pooh. They went back and walked him straight to our table as we were leaving. Very nice touch and something I've never seen at WDW.
