Headed to DL for our first ever visit (we are long time WDW vets) from June 29 -July 1. We would like to do one table service meal during our time there. How would you "spend" it? Fantasmic dining package? WOC dining? Character meal?

We have an 11 year old girl and a 7 year old boy. Both my husband and daughter have Celiac's so we need gluten free options but this has never been a problem at WDW or on DCL, so we feel confident that they can handle out west.

We do have an ADR for the BB Fantasmic package at present but we are open to changing it. We love the WDW Fantasmic and generally do the package there at Mama Melroses.

Not sure when we will be pack (we're from Ontario) so what would you say shouldn't be missed?

Thanks Disney peeps - you are the best!

I like the character breakfasts as they're fun, but if you've been to WDW several times you've probably done those. I've never been to Blue Bayou, but I know people highly recommend it as the way to get the best seating for Fantasmic. And I have seen Fantasmic, it's worth seeing and better than the one at WDW, although I liked the seating at WDW.

My two cents is that you've made the right choice going w BB for F! There is much debate as to whether you actually get better viewing spot through the dining packages for WOC (I prefer just to pull a regular FP for WOC), but there is growing consensus so far on BB offering reliably good viewing spot for F! You will really like F! at Dland being performed right in the ROA. The character meals are also fun but you can see characters many other ways (parades, meet and greets, etc.)

I think you should stick with your current reservation.

Even without the F! package I would say Blue Bayou if you are only doing one table service meal. Food is decent but the atmosphere cant be beat for a Disneyland trip. You are literally inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride with the boats passing by. Everything else on property is just a regular old restaurant in one form or another.

If you are more of a foodie...Napa Rose at the Grand Californian is in my opinion the best restaurant on site.

I've got to agree with the others, and say, "Keep that BB F! reservation!" I love the ambiance of BB. It's awesome to be sitting in the middle of a dark bayou in the middle of the day. I honestly forget that I'm in the middle of Disneyland :)

I also have to agree. We did the BB Fantasmic package over Easter and LOVED it! The food was amazing and the ambiance can't be beat. Check in a little early for your reservation and request a waterside table. It was so relaxing to sit by the water while we ate.

Another vote for BB, Fantasmic package or not. It's an unique dinning experience that you can't duplicate in WDW and even though I've eaten there several times, it would be the one I would make my first choice every time.

I agree...BB F! Reservation is the best bet. You can get an equally good WOC viewing spot by just pulling a regular FP.

BB is a great experience. You will sit there, enjoy your meal and step out and THEN remember your inside DL.

Ok sounds like we should keep the BB Fantasmic! reservation. Really appreciate all of your advice!

Great choice to dine at Blue Bayou-your kids will love it. Mine our grown now and still remember the times we ate there. Enjoy!!
