we have free dining during our trip ( we check-in this Sunday - YAY). 2 Adults and 2 Kids (8 yrs old)

I have all my ADR's done - for our AK day I have 2 ADR's Tusker House (pre-park opening - 8:10 AM ADR) and Sanaa for dinner (at 5:15 Pm - after AK closing) - if I want to keep both of these - I have to pay OOP for one of those - which one should I pay OOP????

ANy advice????? Please HELP.

Thanks.

This is an easy fix. Look up the Sanaa menu and write down what everyone in the party is most likely to order (apps, entrees, non-alcoholic beverages, desserts) IF you were paying OOP. For instance, perhaps one child would rather just have an app and a dessert? Or the adults might just have water?
If you're not sure, you can average the price of two choices, or just go with the more expensive one as a fail-safe.

When you have that, compare it to the OOP cost for the Tusker buffet, since that is a defined amount.

OK, there's your answer!

I would say Sanaa because you'd notice that the kids' meals will be higher in price at Tusker House.

Agree with Briar Rose.
When are you going? You say 5:15 reservation is after AK closes. You may prefer to eat at Rainforest Cafe, rather than catch a bus to another place. Of course if you are staying at AKV-Kidani, that doesn't apply.
Or if not too tired, go to Downtown Disney.
I have never done that after an AK day, but just found out some do, and it sounds like a good idea if you are not too tired.
Or if tired, just make it an early evening. Return to resort for food court, pool time and/or movie by the pool, and bed, so rested for rope drop next morning.

I no longer have young ones, so I prefer late nights, rather than rope drops.
But with younger ones, being there early really helps.

we are going to the world this Sunday - AK day is next Thursday - September 1st.

My kids are 8 yrs old - we love indian food so I was thinking that Sanaa food will give us a break from just pizza, veggie burgers, pasta - we are vegetarians.

Our trip is from 8/28 to 9/6 - i have park hoppers and water parks too - my plan has some flexibility for change. And I do want to go to DTD one evening if possible so that is a good idea (if we are not too tired by then)

Since we are arriving this Sunday - let's see how we feel by Thursday (LOL).

I have Chef Mickey's planned as our departure meal so characters is not the main reason to go to Tusker ( my girls would love to see Minnie and Tusker doesn't have Minnie - Tusker gets good reviews though plus I have pre-park opening ADR) so cannot decide........................

Thanks for your responses everyone.

Good point on figuring out what we would order (thanks :-)

Since you like Indian food, you would probably really enjoy lunch at Tusker. Many people complain it is "too exotic" for them, but you have more experienced palates.
Look on Allears.net at the menus.
The breakfast has bobotie and mealie pap, but the rest is mostly traditional American breakfast buffet stuff.

Also:
Book for lunch from 1:00pm - 1:40pm and get reserved seating to
Finding Nemo The Musical for the 3:15pm show! They also have reserved seating for a later show. I am not sure of the time frames for that.

That reserved seating sure beats standing in line in the sun or rain.
The Finding Nemo The Musical show is really good, a Don't Miss This!

Regarding your dinner plans---getting back from Downtown Disney to your resort, if your decide to go there, will be infinately easier and quicker than getting from Sanaa to your resort. (Again, unless you are staying at AKL or AKV.)

Unless you intend to get an app, entree, and dessert per person at Sanaa, I don't see how you could possibly spend as much as you would at Tusker OOP (except maybe for kids, but even then...). And Sanaa's serving sizes, to me, were huge for some of the apps and entrees, so you could easily share. I personally, then, would go OOP for Sanaa. Good luck, and happy eating! :)
