So if you had to live abroad for a minimum of 6 months where would you choose ? A couple of rules though.

1. Not an English speaking country, so not the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc.
2. It can't be somewhere that you have friends or family living.

My personal choice would be Thailand.

Interesting question :)

So many countries to choose from and only one choice to make

I think maybe I would like to try Japan, it's a totally different culture to ours and there are loads of electronic gadgets to buy in Japan that I would be like a child in a sweetshop for most of the time :teeth:

Also lots of lovely sushi to eat :bounce:

Probably Italy. It is such a beautiful country and I would love to try to pick up some of the language. Plus, the food.....need I say more?!?!?!

That would have to be France for me.

Japan sounds an exciting place and I would LOVE to visit but one of my friends lived there for a year or two, and from her experiences there I would not want to be there for 6 months plus.

Does depend a little on if money is an issue. Some places would be fun and interesting, but require a lot more money than others. If I was funding this trip I would rank it

1) Thailand for the people, cos it's cheap, I love the food and it's great scenery.

2) Italy because there is so much culture to take in.

3) Portugal because I like the climate and the people

4) Spain , because there is a lot I have yet to experience. and I DESPERATELY want to stay in some of the Paradores ( http://www.parador.es/english/index.jsp ) they have and to explore the non touristy areas.

I'd like to spend time in Mexico visiting the historical sites ( and a LOAD of time on the beach :D )

If I was on an "all expenses paid" trip Italy would come top as I could do some SERIOUS damage to someone's hospitality in that country :D

Logically, I should say France, because I remember a goodly amount of my high school French, and I'm sure a lot more of it would come back to me if I had to use it all the time.

However, having been to Rome this past June, I have to say I would choose Italy. Can't speak more than 20 words, but I can interpret a menu. At least I wouldn't go hungry!

Hi,

Hi.

My choice would have to be Morocco, its a very different culture and would be an exciting adventure. One of the main Languages is French so I think I could get by.
I would also say Japan,as I think it would be very interesting to live there.

Hi Londonpenguin.

Monkey is not a muppet,he was the star of ITV digtal commercials. He had a cult following in the UK,and was sold as a toy as well.We have one of these toys, and he is treated as a member of the family(DW thinks I'm mad).Monkey sits on our sofa in the living room. There are websites with pictures of monkey in different outfits on the web, plus you can watch the commercials as well.

Heres a picture of monkey and some info

As a big star wars fan i choose a picture of him dressed as a jedi.

May the force be with you.

when monkey was very popular I was mad on him. I have a monkey that my mom knitted for me. He is a proper monkey not one that you get from these fair ground things. He is so precious that he lives in our living room cabinet. :p most people keep crystal or their best tea service in their living room cabinet......i have a wooly monkey!!:teeth:
