in Europe, which one would it be?

Italy would be fabulous but I'm intrigued by all of them!

Thank you!!!

We've done Viva Italia, and will shortly do Northern Italy & Switzerland. But beyond that I think that Knights & Lights would be the best, if you haven't already done London and Paris.

IMO.....1 Danube river cruise.

2 Italy Rome, Florence, and Venice

3 Italy Amalfi coast

4 Germany

5 Nights and Lights

6 Italy and Swiss Tour

7 Norway

.........but then again I love them all.

We've done France and Ireland. Of those, I'd probably pick Ireland. I have Germany and Northern Italy/Switzerland coming up soon so of course those are high on my list. I could honestly give love to any of these locations. We went to Norway last summer on DCL and it was absolutely incredible.

(Beyond this summer) If I had to pick only one, I'd say Spain continues to rest high on my list.

Of the ones I've done, I would definitely put Greece at #1. Just an amazing country and an amazing trip.

#2 would be Scotland.

Sayhello

Have you been to any of those destinations before? We've done Germany and just got back two days ago from Italy - Amalfi Coast. I'd been to Europe before and hit the highlights, so both times I tried to pick trips that included things I'd never done/seen before. I'd been to Rome, Florence, and Venice, so that trip didn't interest me as much. On the Germany trip, I'd only been to Neuschwanstein, so the rest of the trip was new to me.

Oh man, so many of the Europe trips interest me. I guess I would have to go with Italy (Rome, Venice, Florence).

Just one is so hard.

I usually want to go somewhere new on a "big trip" so have to say Greece.

But there are several close behind...

My husband and I (not kids) have been to Rome, Paris, Nice, Madrid, Sevilla, Barcelona, and Lisbon but we were on our own and now looking forward to a bit of well....support from ABD.

Please, do tell! How was the Almalfi Coast? I am interested!

I have done the Rome, Tuscany and Venice trip four times.

I would happily schedule four more if I could.

It's my favorite.

Fantastic to hear Kevin. Funny...just a few hours ago I was telling my husband that Kevin from the podcast said that Lake Como was one of the most beautiful places he has ever seen. Lake Como isn't on this tour, but Rome is special and I can see why you love it. This is tough......

Spain and Scotland look like the hardest to replicate on your own. So I choose them. They are my ABDs for this year, coincidentally.

The Amalfi Coast was wonderful! The day at Capri alone is worth the trip! We also visited Amalfi and Positano. The views and scenery are just stunning and the hotel is fantastic.

The other half of the trip we were based out of Florence and did a couple of side trips to the Tuscan countryside.

We did three pre-days on our own in Rome, using Airbnb and Walks of Italy. I was very impressed with WoI, and Rome is easy to do on your own. I wrote a trip report, if you want to take a look.

We've done Germany and London/Paris. I can't make up my mind on which one I would like to do in Italy. Spain looks amazing as well.

In Europe we've done the Ireland, Scotland, and the Baltics Add-on for the DCL cruises. (We've also done a DCL Med cruise that hit Italy and France, a DCL Iceland/Norway cruise, a DCL Baltics cruise, and travel to England every year or so, so the ABDs that hit those places aren't really on my list.) Of the ABDs we've done, we loved Ireland and Scotland. Scotland is my favorite ABD that we've done, but the itinerary we did was really different. They removed one of the best days from the itinerary (the day to Lewis) that was on a private plane and was one of the big cost justifiers for me. It was a great day, and it's a shame that they removed it. I'm on my way to Greece for an ABD tomorrow, so I'll have to chime back in on that one.

Oh gosh, this is such a hard decision. We've done two, Viva Italia and Alpine Magic (Italy and Switzerland) and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either. The Viva Italia is hard to beat, especially if you want to hit the must-see's of Italy. However, it is history and art heavy, so that could influence your decision, if you're not looking for that in particular. I love, love, loved Italy/Switzerland, but it also played into many things I like, notably, mountains/hiking, and activity, along with some sightseeing. Other than the Matterhorn, you won't see much in the way of most people's 'must-see Europe'. The France trip intrigues me a lot and I think it would be wonderful, though I haven't read any reports on it. If you've never been to Europe before, I also think England/France would be a great introduction. Is there anything in particular you're looking for in an ABD or trip to Europe? Are you taking kids and, if so, girls/boys and how old? I've heard great things about the Germany trip; especially that young to tween girls in particular tend to enjoy that trip due to the fairytale aspects.
