If you had ONE meal....

We are going Jan 17 - 24. It is going to be a budget trip - going to be bringing all snacks and eating CS meals most of the time. I would, however, like to have one, nicer, sit-down meal. It does not have to be a character meal - nice, but we'll see plenty of Mickey

From our last trip...we LOVED Crystal Palace, and the brunch at AKL. I would not be opposed to doing one of those again, but if there is somewhere else we HAVE to try....

For info...

DH - eats no vegetables except potatoes and corn. HATES seafood.
DS7 - eats...nothing. He is very picky, and we don't choose meals around him. We just find him SOMETHING on the menu. Sometimes he just gets fries (I know, I know - but I have spent enough money and aggrivation in the past 7 years buying meals, and then only the fries get eaten anyway!!!)
DD5 - eats everything. LOVE veggies. Will find something to eat anywhere, and be happy with what she gets.
Me - same as DD

(Do we see a trend here???)

So...where would you send us??? It can be in a resort, or a park, or DTD - not offsite, as we won't have a car.

I would say Crystal Palace is a good place to return to.
If you wanted something new I would recommend Ohana at the Poly.

It covers the meat eater of DH, also has pork pot stickers and wings that are to die for. They are served along with 3 different sauces to sauce things up if needed. A peanut one, a hot one and something else, all very good.
Noodles are served as well as a pineapple bread that is soooo good!
The meats come on skewers presented by the waiter, pork, turkey, shrimp and steak. You can eat all you want and it is served family style. Your DD will like the broccolli as well.
Dessert is a bread pudding with vanilla ice cream, oh I am now drooling...lol

That is where I would recommend.

Oooooo....this is tough. But I would say by the age of your kids and the pickyness of SOME in your group....I'll say....

Crystal Palace. Book a late lunch so you pay lunch price but it will cross over to dinner. It has characters as well. So, more bang for your buck. There is so much food and so much to pick from. Everyone will love it.

Okay, I was speed reading and missed that you had already been there!! DUH!!! So, I will suggest....hmmmmm......

Chef Mickey's. Good eats, great characters. A nice way to get away from the parks for a little while. But you can always go back to Crystal Palace.

Also take a look at the menu for Biergarten in Epcot.

They have nice buffet with numerous meat, potatoes and salad options.
They have salmon (like every restaurant in Disney), as well as hot dogs , Mac and cheese etc...

They also have the entertainment that may keep the kids entertained while you eat.

My favorite is Lecellier filet w/ mushroom risooto love the pretzel breadsticks, the soup and the chocalate whiskey cake all around yummy meal would'nt miss it for anybody or anything.
Second the whole family enjoys CapeMay Clam Bake at Beach Club, yummy choices for all and the kids get to draw on the paper lined table my kids love that and so do I, they never get bored there.
Third Boma excellent choices for all.
Whispering Canyon another fun spot and the skillet.
Fourth the Biergarten good choices and entertainment.
Trying Ohana's for the first time this year and really looking forward to the bread pudding.

If the kids are picky, like my nieces are, I would do a character breakfast like Ohana or the Princess Breakfast in Epcot.

For a dinner I would have to go with an Italian restaurant like Tonys (for a less expensive meal) or Tutto, Il Mulino etc.

I also would return to Crystal Palace and enjoy the food and atmosphere.....The kids extras (that my husband loves too) would maybe be what your son would like. French Fries, mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. I love the meat and fish selections at this place and the desserts are out of site.......Return and enjoy the food and atmosphere....

Breakfast is going to be less expensive and there are a ton of great options! It's hard to be picky at breakfast so I'm sure everyone could find something they like. My favorite places for breakfast are Boma and Animal Kingdom Lodge, Crystal Palace, and Kona Cafe in the Poly. I know Ohana has some characters at their breakfast.

My all time favorite, MUST DO (and I mean that. I wouldn't go to WDW if I couldn't eat here) is Ohana dinner! So much fun. Yummy food (something for everyone. Served family style. Kids options are available if your kiddos are too picky for what's being served). Great atmosphere. The dessert is TO DIE FOR!

I think Biergarten & 'Ohana would be perfect for your gang. It sounds like everyone in your family would be really happy with the options at both (& the entertainment at Biergarten is lots of fun too).

Unfortunately, Crystal Palace will be closed during your trip. It is a must do for us, and we are also going in January and will miss it.

If you are only doing one TS meal, I'd do a character meal based on the ages of your kids. You just can't do them anywhere else, so it is so special for Disney. I'd probably pick the Princess Storybook breakfast in Epcot and try to get an ADR before the park opens. The food is typical enough that your DS can find something to eat, and your DD won't be a princess fan forever (if she is a fan now). If your DD is not a princess fan, I'd probably do O'Hana breakfast (Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto). If you want dinner, the stepsisters at Park Fare are supposed to be hilarious, but we have not done that meal since before they were there.

If you don't want a character meal, Boma is great (even though you've already been there) and your kids can enjoy the animals. My kids love 50's Prime Time and the food is good, but I don't know if I would pick it if I could only pick one TS meal.
