If You Had a Resort Pool Day . . .

would you choose the Poly or AKL - Jambo? I think I've decided to split our stay and trying to decide which Resort would be best! TY!

AKL would be my choice. You have two feature pools to choose from. Jambo's feature pool is huge, with a big hot tub shaded by tall bamboo trees...Kidani has an average size pool and hot tub, with a really nice spiral waterslide and toddler water play area. The Mara quick service restaurant is right by the Jambo feature pool, btw.

The Poly volcano pool was too crowded for my taste the time we stayed there. It still is a very nice pool, though. Either choice will be very nice.

Very hard decision...can't you do both..lol...these are my two favorite resort pool areas but they both have different vibes...AKL more relaxed,huge pool, great hot tubs ..then you can wander by the fence and look at animals....Poly also has a great Hawaiian vibe with 2 pools and new hot tubs that I have yet to try and the great view of magic kingdom...I mean they both are really great!!!!!

I agree that both are awesome, but if I had to choose one for a pool day, it would be the Poly. We love both resorts and pools, but the Poly is our favorite overall. You can't beat having a view of the castle while swimming .

Haven't been to AKL pool but I'd go with AKL simply because the Poly pool can get awfully crowded.

AKL pool area not only has Mara near by for a nice lunch, but the laundry facilities are right there, too, just n case you need them. You can go out behind the hot tub area and see animals as well. I think the pool area is beautiful!

(Plus, a bunch of really smart birds made off with our lunch at the Poly pool and I have never forgiven them . . . )

if you have smaller kids I hear the AKL pool, NOT Jambo the other one at the DVC has an awesome splash area. We have only been to Jambo.. Jambo house also gives you the options to view animals near the pools etc....

Another vote for AKL. The poly pool area seems tiny to me.

I would do AKL. I've never been to AKL but the pics look great. We did a pool day at the Poly and we found it to be boring. The pool isn't that big and my kids are older so the splash area was not an option.

I like both, so I would stay at Poly if you have not been to WDW before and will spend a number of days at MK. Otherwise, my choice would be AKL. Both resorts have great pools, but to me the theming and overall awesomeness of the AKL lobby and the animals put it somewhat ahead of Poly for me.

Absolutely AKL! Poly gets crowded. I find there are not enough lounge chairs there, also. Jambo house pool has tons of chairs, both in the sun and shade. Two hot tubs! Animal viewing areas! Great food court, arcade, poolside games! My favorite thing is the amazing pool bar at Jambo!! My favorite part of spending an afternoon at the pool at Jambo House, is when I get bored of sunbathing, swimming, hanging out at the pool bar, I take a barefoot stroll to check out the animals and chat with CM's about their experiences in Africa. There's only one place I know of in Disney that I can do that!
