If you get booted from AKL, please go back another time, you will love it.

 Take it from a POLY fan.

All of this talk about AKL moving guests during the July 1 timeframe has me thinking.

We originally had 2 standard view rooms booked July 14-21, 2007. There were a total of 5 kids (3 DD's and 2 friends) and 2 adults going.

The opportunity came up for me to go the 1st week of June while my sisters were travelling. After talking to DH, him and DD15 said they really would just rather wait until 2008 becasue we had just been there November 2006. (weird I know):sad2:

At first I tryed to talk DD14 into the Poly because I felt AKL would be too far away. She wouldn't budge(this was our 1st time trying AKL). So, I was able to secure a AAA room rate the trip. I fell in love with AKL.

I am so glad I listened to DD14, even after being critized by my extended family and friends for letting a teenager dictate where we stay. It was a special trip for her, afterall, 1 week before we left for our Nov. 2006 she was told she couldn't ride the rollercoasters because of her back surgery. So this trip was really about her.:cutie:

Ok, I'm rambling, but I guess it's just weird how some things work out because if we hadn't gone on that trip and had been moved in July, I probably would have never considered AKL again because it was mainly just one member of the family that wanted to try it and she probably would have been outvoted on future trips.:headache:

Problem is now I find out that unless I book two rooms or a one bedroom villa, our family of 5 can't stay anymore.:sad1:

DOn't be stubborn like me and if you get booted, book it for your next trip.:cloud9:

We were going to stay there this summer but they told us that there weren't any rooms available. :O
I shall try again!!

My family was booted from the AKL this Aug 12 - 26th. We will be staying at the Poly now. I love the Poly because we stayed there last year. My kids were REALLY looking forward to staying at the AKL. We Are booked on DCL next summer so we won't be going on an extended stay at WDW. My plan is to add a night at the AKL at the end of our cruise next year so we can experience the resort. I kept one of our ressies at Boma this August because I really want to see what the resort looks like.

Our upcoming trip is supposed to be about making dreams come true. Gabby decided to spoil me and told me to stay at AKL because she knows that it's my dream resort. We booked it with a SV. I was so excited. I really was looking forward to seeing the animals outside from our balcony.

But, because of the first round of discussions on this board about the construction, I decided to move us to another resort. I just didn't want the stress of worrying about if our stay would be less than perfect, so we changed to OKW, but that has been since changed too to the Poly because I found out that Gabby has wanted to stay there practically since birth and even though she asked many times as a child to stay there, even for her own birthday trips, she was told no and they stayed at CR instead. So, as part of my effort to give a little magic back to my partner, who is spoiling me big time for this milestone vacation, we are staying at the Poly. We chose it on our own.....we might could have had it had we not made the decision to move our ressie on our own, but I am glad that we had the control over the move.....even if it did potentially cost us in the end.

I am still looking forward to staying at AKL.....one day. Maggie
