My family and I just returned from WDW and had a wonderful trip. We had many magical moments and brought back memories that will last a lifetime. However, we left one member of our trip that journeyed the whole magical world with us behind - Pal Mickey. :sad1: On the day before we were to go home, my DS6 left our Pal Mickey on the bench of the Port Orleans Riverside East bus depot. We were the only ones sitting there at the time, and we realized he was missing within minutes of our bus ride. We got off our bus at the South depot and ran back but when we got there, he was gone. We were all disappointed but my 6 and 8 year olds were devastated. We quickly went to lost and found and reported him missing. Surely, whoever found him would realize his owners were Port Orleans Riverside guests and would turn him in to lost and found. Guest services were very kind and told the kids to be hopeful. Needless to say though, our Pal Mickey was not turned in. We purchased a second Pal Mickey because my children were so upset. I have to say, I was very surprised and disappointed that whoever found him decided to keep him. :confused3 After all, we all know how important Mickey becomes to one's family while in WDW. Just curious on your thoughts...

mmmmmmmmm, we too left ours on a bench in EPCOT in Nov. and have a sad
5 yr old, I filed a missing mouse report and were hopeful too, but nothing yet... Ours had our name, hotel and cell on him........

This happened to my son on our first trip to WDW in 2005. He had his Pal Mickey on a lanyard aroung his neck and we were in Epcot when it came up missing. We looked high and low with no success. We were instructed by a cm to go to guest relations and give them our information. Luckily for my son, a week after we got Pal Mickey came in the mail. He was so thrilled.

I hope you are as lucky as my son. And as for anyone who would not return it. Well shame on them. And i personally belief in Karma:scared1:

Our family would hand it in to lost property if we found it. One to set an example to our sons that it isn't ours so we hand it in and two if it happened to my child or me for that matter I would like to think someone would hand it back. Unfortunately some people dont see toys etc in the same league as purses and wallets and just assume it won't be claimed and others just don't care they think yay they found it so they will keep it. I hope you do get it back.

When I visited the Cast Connection with a Disney Cast Member, they had BOXES of Pal Mickeys which had been abandoned selling for $10. They said if someone files a claim for them, they always send them back. But most of the time, they end up as bargains for the cast members.

sorry this has happened to you. We had this happen to our daughter last year. Thankfully we went to the transportation centers lost and found and there it was.

It is good to hear that some of you were able to get your Pal Mickey back. I think most Disney vacationers realize Pal Mickey's significance and would turn him in. Maybe ours will turn up too. If he doesn't, I hope whoever decided to keep him really needed him. I'll let you all know if he turns up.

Hi
Have to share this story with you all
In 2006 I ( I am 46 years old don't :rotfl2: ) I had my pal mickey clip on my shorts and we decide to go on dinosaur after the bumpy ride I reach for mickey and:sad2: he was gone ......a very nice cm told me to file a lost report ( at lost & found ) but told me not to get my hopes up because if my pal mickey was found he would most likely be all torn apart ( very bumpy ride with jeeps ) ...so since I had nothing too lose I reported it they took in name , adress ...needless to say I was sad it ( pal mickey ) was a gift from dh for my birthday and we went about our trip .
Two weeks later what was delivered at my house nothing else than a pal mickey to this day I am sure it's not mine because it look all new ( I had lost the bow tie on mine and this one had one but was I ever glad to find my missing friend ......I dont ever wear him with the clip and put him safely in the storage bins on ride since then :goodvibes
Had to tell my story since in my case I had no hopes of finding him when I filed the report do file it anyway you never know .

My family also would turn it in. I will say that is usually takes a bit of time for items to be processed, they go to a central location (from my understanding) are all logged and owners tried to be found. They will often ship things left behind.

My cousin once left several clothing items in the hotel room, they arrived a few items after we got home. We didn't even know they were missing.

My best friend lost her annual pass before they were labeled with much, someone happen to turn it in while we at the MK lost and found, otherwise they said it would have been a couple of days probably if ever, that she got it back. It was not labeled, but in a holder she could identify.

I lost a sweatshirt once, carrying from car to hotel room. I noticed immediately when I got to the room and walked back, I was still unpacking the car, but it was gone.

We have also found things and left them right where they were, thinking it couldn't have been long, hopefully they'll come back for it. It was a baby blanket, a handmade one, that I am sure had meaning and the child loved. I thought it was better to leave there in hopes that no one else would steal, but if they came back it would be there. I am sure someone eventually turned it in if the owners never came back.

DH finds stuff all the time, sunglasses usually.

My son and I went on POTC in October and then went to watch the pirate tutorial. Afterwards, the line was short, so we went back to POTC. As we got on the ride, I looked over and saw a Pal Mickey and said "Torin, that looks like your Pal Mickey". Torin just then noticed that Mickey was gone from around his neck! Luckily, someone had seen it lying on the seat and gave it to a CM, and luckily, we rode the ride again and I noticed it!

ok two stories......

My DD lost her pin filled lanyard in MK earlier this year. It was never returned.:guilty:

My DD left her favorite (this doll goes with us EVERYWHERE) doll in the room at POFQ (on her birthday trip):scared1:

I didn't realize it until we had checked out. I called the hotel, lost and found, houskeeping, manager (who never returned my calls)..... you name it I called them. I finally got a hold of another manager and explained for the 100th time. She told me she would go and check lost and found right now. She called me back and asked for more details on the doll. She sent a CM to the store (off property) to BUY a replacement and send it to my DD!!!!!!
princess:

Hopefully some pixie dust will come your way and Mickey will find his way home.

Oh... a lost pin-filled lanyard would also be very hurtful. Those have so many great memories attached to them. I can feel your pain.

What GREAT news about the doll. That was very kind.

I hope Pal Mickey finds his way home too. Even though we purchased a second one, my daughter still misses the Mickey she carried around the parks - his scratched nose and all.

Is that who I think it is? That must have been devestating! How wonderful that they went and got you another one!

So sorry about the pins. My kids would be crushed if that happened!

I wish one of you guys had been around last year when Arminda lost her beloved Bambi. I thought for sure someone would turn it in, I mean it's DISNEY! But, no one did. Thankfully, a wonderful Diser sent her one that was almost identical! Thanks MissyBrenda!

I hope you get your Pal Mickey back!

It can take weeks for WDW to get through the lost and found stuff and mail things back to the owners - so don't give up hope yet.

To the previous poster whose friend lost her annual pass - she just needed to show ID to get a new one.
