We are driving from AZ to DLR in a couple of days.
Google maps shows this route: 10 to 60 to 91 to 57.
Is this the route you took? And how was the traffic?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

That is the route we always take from Tucson. Traffic isn't too bad overall, though it always comes to a stop at some point (It doesn't matter the time of day, weekday/weekend, etc. - it always stops). I can't remember if it's on 60 or 91, sorry. I usually delays us about 30 minutes overall, so not too bad.

There are times that I've considered going the southern route to avoid Phoenix (and avoid using a GPS), how easy is 10 (my only freeway choice down here) to 8 (easy, like you're going to San Diego) to 5. Supposedly, it's only 20 minutes longer (from Tucson), but I have an inkling there would be traffic delays that route as well...

If you do take this route, consider avoiding taking 8 all the way to the 5.
Go north on 805 and you'll miss the 805-5 merge. (kinda)
'Sometimes' you'll luck out and hit a 'little' bit of a jam. Just stay in the second lane from the left. (watch out for the 'exits' that are on the left side north of the 405)

This is the route we usually take also. We are making a stop in San Diego first on this trip, but I like the route posted because it seems like less traffic.:thumbsup2

I-10 is very similar to I-8 and very easy. We usually plan stops in Quartzsite and Indio (gas up & lunch). You will always get into some kind of traffic in California. The last time I drove was last month on a Tuesday. We left Phoenix around 7:00 AM and arrived in Anaheim around 1:30 PM. Didn't really have a lot of traffic.

We normally stop in Quartzite also for gas and McDonalds. The last time I was through, however, I saw one of the McDonald's workers leave the restroom (after using it) without washing her hands...:faint: Next time, we may have to try the Burger King instead. Regardless, if you stop for gas any later than Quartzite, you're going to be paying more per gallon.

I drove this two Thursdays ago. Traffic was not to bad until you get to the 91, of course that depends on what time you leave and so on.

Ooh, experts!

Talk to me about Anaheim to Scottsdale. How long to get there?

5.5 to 6 hours. At least for me.

Where in Scottsdale are you going? I would cut off of the I-10 at the 101 Loop in West Phoenix, that will take you north and then west towards Scottsdale.

It will take you about 6 hours.

I can't remember the streets, but it's near a Trader Joes! :rotfl:

I'll look at the map and compare it to what you said. :)

Thanks!

I think it really depends on where in AZ.

From Phoenix:
10W to 215S (don't take the 60, it's horrid)
215S becomes 91W
91W to the 57S
57S to the resort.

5.5 hours in good traffic.

From Tucson (otherwise known as Dirty Pit):
8W to 805N
805N becomes 5N
5N to the resort.

Probably 6-7 hours in good traffic.
