Just wanted to get some opintions on this cause right now our vacation is still up in the air for July .
If we do get to go and can't stay onsite then my choices are The Doubletree a the entrance to Universal (which we have stayed there before and is not bad).
The Hyatt place Universal or Best Western Universal Inn
That just three I have been considering and just wanted to know what your thoughts were.
Thanks

They're all about the same quality but I think you get free breakfast at the Hyatt, if that makes a difference to you.

I've stayed at the Hyatt Place several times and the only problem with the hotel is that the breakfast area is too small, but hey it's free breakfast so I'm not complaining. The rest of the hotel is great,no issues whatsoever.Obviously in July staying at the RPR is ideal with the unlimited express, but not staying there is not a reason not to go and enjoy yourself.

One of my trips in 08' with my Nephew we stayed at the Hyatt Place and it may have been a fluke cuz it was only one night but I thought it was a great hotel.

The beds honestly were the most comfortable I think I have ever been in a hotel.(I have stayed at quite a few in Orl area ranging from 2 to 4 ish)

Again may have been a fluke and I was rly tired so it may have contributed to the awesomeness of the bed but if I were to go back and chose a hotel it would be that one.(I usually randomize from Hotwire or that other site that I can't remember name atm)

We stayed at Hyatt Place last summer and had a blast. The rooms were HUGE, and we had a nice LCD tv, free wireless and a fridge plus the free breakfast. They have shuttles to a from the parks in the morning and evening, or you could walk it in about 15 minutes. We got out room through Priceline and I hope we get it again this year.

Lawrence...have you checked into the rates yet? I would stick with the Doubletree since you've stayed there before and know what to expect.

Hyatt Place is around $70/night rack rate.

Hotels in that area have been going for $40 or less through Priceline. I've seen lots of people win at $30 and we got the Sheraton Four Points, which is about a mile away (the round hotel you see when you first get onto I-4 from the turnpike) for $22 last July.

Yeah, we got HP for $30/night last summer. I don't know if it will be as easy to win next summer once Harry Potter is open though. We'll definitely be using Priceline though--can't beat those rates.

Yeah I have been checking out RPR and right now its $187.00 a night and a little out of our budget but hoping for rates to go a little lower but with WWOHP opening I don't know if rates will go any lower but we can always hope :thumbsup2
