Hey everyone. Old member making a comeback. I have Barnes & Nobles as a like on my facebook page, and they had a great question on their status the other day that got me thiking. So, I thought I'd post it here on the Dis to see what responses I'd get. Here it goes: If you could step into the pages of a book, what book would it be?

My answer:
That's a tough one for me because there are so many books I like. My first thought was anyone of the Star Wars books, but then I got to thinking about the Harry Potter books. I just don't know.

The Princess Bride.

Wait, no.

Pride and Prejudice.

Do I have to pick one?

Alice in Wonderland (the original one by Lewis Carroll)

Oh, good question, impossible answer but I think I would lean toward Harry Potter as well.

so many to choose from, but my first thought is :"Mists of Avalon": my "if you were stuck on a desert island book".

However, I could probably create a list!!!!!:)

ETA: haven't read HP books - but can understand why they would be a popular choice!

CCT...good to see you back:thumbsup2

Tough one for me too...I'm not really a big fan of Star Wars or Harry Potter...I tend to read more history and biographical books...I just finished War by Sebatian Junger and I think spending a day in one page of that book would be very enlightening.

My first reaction is in a Jane Austen novel, as long as I have a decent dowry.;)

Hmmm...that is a tough one. I'd either go with "Harry Potter" or "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

Thanks, Mayor.

I like history as well, and while I don't read pure history books (I lied, I've read 1776 by David McCullough), I do love a good historical novel. My favorite author is Bernard Cornwell.

Off the top of my head, Ill say harry potter but Im sure if I think long and hard something else comes to mind. It would be so kool to do magical stuff!

My choice would be one of the Outlander books because I'd love to be able to travel back and forth in time.

The Joy of Sex :teeth:

Actually it would be Where the Red Fern Grows and stop him from going on that last hunt!

Another I would like to visit would be the Jean Auel "Clan of the Cave Bear" series.

First choice would be a Ludlum novel, for the sights and adventure, then the HP novels just as an observer.

This is my favorite book as well but I would not pick it. I have to be in an era where my flatiron works. :lmao:

I'm having a hard time coming up with an answer that does not transport me back to the pre-flatiron era.

It's a toss up for me between Outlander or Jasper Fforde's book, The Eyre Affair which already involves a lot of jumping in and out of books so I wouldn't be the only one doing it and I wouldn't have to just choose one book.

And, hello, Cape Cod Tenor, it's good to see you back!
