If you could stay at any Disney resort and price was no object, which one would you choose and why?

We are trying to decide on where to stay for our 10th anniversary. It would just be for one night.

I would stay at the Poly:thumbsup2 . I love the atmosphere there whenever we head over to look around. I would LOVE to stay at Wilderness Lodge also, so it is kind of a toss up. The monorail definitely swings it in Poly's favor though;) . It would cost too much with our brood.

I agree with the above poster-Poly or Wilderness Lodge.

One thing about WL though, while it doesn't have the monorail, it does have a small boat that takes you to Magic Kingdom. We did this just for fun on our last day and it was very romantic and fun! The views from the water and relaxing ride was way better than the monorail. We were also the only ones on he boat! :goodvibes

I think I'd vote for the Wilderness Lodge. We had dinner there (at WCC) and as soon as we walked into the lobby we were in love. It wasn't just the theming, which is awesome, but the vibe of the place. It was so hopping and alive. We loved it.

We have three kids so we'd need to stay in a deluxe room or suite and moneywise that is never going to happen. So, if money were no object, that's what I would choose.

WL :o)
It looks for purdy.....plus you can't beat a geyser :o)
I love trees and nature and WL seems to be the embodiment of that

and POR....
oh but wait, I get to stay here July 23-26!! YAY!!

For me it is a toss up between WL or the BW. I love the WL for it's theming and the BW for location because EPcot is my favorite park.

I personally really want to stay at AKL with a savannah view. I want to wake up in the morning and see a giraffe!

I'd do a club level room and probably choose the GF in a Royal Palm (Main Building) room to sit in the lounge and listen to the orchestra below - especially at Christmas time with the Xmas tree and gingerbread house up :santa:

- or AKL Club level with a savannah view room, or the WL Club level (not as $$$ as some resorts), Poly Club level (having the monorail is nice)

or a Deluxe Innkeepers club level room at the BWI, just because of the fantastic Boardwalk view we had there - here's what I mean about this view (from our balcony):

Have fun planning your dream trip, lucky you! :cutie:

If only for one night, then the Grand Floridian so I could be on the monorail and head straight into the MK.

I think I'd have to say the Grand Floridian. I've wanted to stay there ever since I laid eyes on it in a magazine all those years ago, and especially now after having seen it in person. :lovestruc

A close second would be Wilderness Lodge. It just seems fun.

CR -- Magic Kingdom view. It's been a dream of mine ever since I monorailed through the resort when I was seven years old.

The Grand Floridian. We love the decor, the atmosphere, and of course, the monorail\location. Even our DD want to stay at "the place with the red roof" one day, we just need to justify the $400 plus per night to actually do it, LOL.

My vote would be for poly or AKL. We recently (1-2708 to 2-1-08) stayed at AKL club level and loved it. We woke up to animals everyday out or window. You could actually lay in bed and watch them eat and walk around. We stayed on the second floor (wonderful level) with a view of the Arusha (sp?) savannah. It was so peaceful. There are delicious resturants and the pool is really nice. I just felt a world away from the rat race at the parks. I didn't find it to be noisy at all except at the pool in the evening. The 2 spa areas near the pool are so tranquil. I could sit there all day. We did not use the fitness area or spa services but I could see part of the fitness area from the pool and it looked nice. I did have to do a load laundry there, because we had done the 3 night cruise before going to AKL. The laundry facilities were immaculate and very comfotable! If anyone has told you terrible things about the buses there don't listen to them. We never waited more than 5 or 10 minutes for a bus. AKL buses only go to AKL and the designated destination. You don't stop to pick up people at other hotels. After we ate at Poly, we waited over 30 minutes to take a bus to DTD.

If you stay club level you are able to do the breakfast safari which was worth every penny. It was peaceful to watch the animals so active in the morning. We had a guide, Megan, who worked with the elephants in the Kingdom. She had quite a bit of education and had worked with elephants for about 15 years. She was so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. If she did not have the answer, the driver did. We returned for a delicious buffet made just for us.

I guess you would have to look at what you are interested in doing at WDW to make your decision. Have you been there before or is this your first time? What do you expect from your trip? Lounging around or powering through the parks?

I would split it up! Poly 2 nights with great view of course, and since I live the Boardwalk area I would love a suite with a water view at any of the three...for 5 other nights:wizard:

I think I'd vote for the Wilderness Lodge. We had dinner there (at WCC) and as soon as we walked into the lobby we were in love. It wasn't just the theming, which is awesome, but the vibe of the place. It was so hopping and alive. We loved it.

WL for me too. We have the same issue as you. We have 3 kids, so we cannot stay there without spending a fortune, so it's not gonna happen!:sad1:

The Grand Floridian is in a class of it's own.

You can't fully appriciate it unless you have stayed there.

If $ were no object, all my stays at WDW would be there.

IMO the best bang for the buck is the Swan/Dolphin. One of the best locations, and a very low cost when compared to the WDW resorts.

We are spending 7days at WDW. Our anniversary is the second day that we are there. They day afterwards we are moving to the Hilton in DTD for the rest of the trip. This will be our 5th trip, the first with no kids. We have never stayed on property before. We will have a rental car and will spend most of the time at the resort before moving to DTD.
I have always really wanted to stay at the GF, and it was kind of a given that this is where we would stay on our anniversary, but now that we are actually going to book it, $500 is a lot for one night. I haven't completely ruled it out but if I can find another resort that is just as nice I may be persuaded out of it. I was thinking if we did the GF, then for our first night we would stay at ASmu and then move to the GF, if we find something else depending on price we may just stay both nights there. Does anyone have any review or comments on YC, OKW ( it would be a 1bed villa), or BW
Okay, for all of you who picked WL, besides the lobby whatelse is awesome about it? How are the rooms, dinning, activities?
