If you could splurge on just ONE thing . . .

If you were at WDW on a tight budget, but could afford to splurge on just one fairly extravagant thing, what would it be? Hoop de Doo Revue? Fantasmic dinner package? Cirque de Soleil? Or just having a bit of extra cash for those odds and ends of souveniers and such?

We are actually in that position and we are splurging on the Fantasmic Dinner Package. It makes good sense for us because we hate to wait in line for excessive periods of time (We're going in July so 2 hours or so.) and we will only be eating at one sit down restaurant.

I look at things like Hoop de Doo Revue and Cirque du Soleil and I think, wow that's great, but I'm already spending so much for park entry, should I really go spending $100 on a night away from the parks, when I could be riding Star Tours for the 20th time (my son's favorite ride)?

But then I think it would be fun to do something really special. I just don't know what that should be. We used to do character meals for that, but he's 8 now and isn't so interested in getting autographs anymore. He's kinda old and jaded. ;) Now he's into pin trading, but that's not quite so event-driven.

We're leaving on a budget trip in eight days :) and we're splurging on the Keys to the Kingdom tour.

extra cash for souveniers and a night at Pleasure Island

My big splurge on this trip is a Gifts of a Lifetime event for my family. I can't wait to surprise them!

I've never been, but the Cirque de Solei sounds like a cool splurge to me.

I wish I could! Unfortunately that's a bigger splurge than I can swing. I'm thinking more in the $100 for two people range.

Well, I guess it depends on who/why you are going. If this is the first trip, I'd spend my energy on the parks. If I was travelling alone with my DH, or adult family member, I would pick a romantic big dinner. If I had kids, I might do a character breakfast and souveniers. If I had done most things in the parks on previous multiple trips, I might do Cirque or a dinner show.

If I went tomorrow, I would probably spend the money on a fabulous meal.

I loved Cirque- that would be a great splurge- but I think it is awfully expensive. Also- a specialty cruise would be a really cool splurge- if you share one you could swing it on your Budget

The Fantasmic Dinner and Show will run you about 100.00 for 2 including tip (unless you're drinkers). Dinner at the Brown Derby is sensational and a special treat. Food is fantastic!

Fantasmic Dinner Package isn't that much is it. :guilty: We were planning to do this. I thought it would be less than 80 for the two of us at the most expensive restaurant choice.

I would have dinner at the Yacht'sman's steak house. So yummy

I also would do a tour, but not the Segway tour. I love AK and have always wanted to do the Wild by Design tour, but just couldn't justify the cost on top of Theme Park admission.

For my upcoming trip, the splurge will be dinner at Jiko on arrival night. I do so many charcter meals since DD loves them, but Jiko will be my treat. The rest of the trip is all about her. Cirque would be a good splurge too. I may do that next time.
