If we do not do the meal plan and stay 13 nights - then we would only eat in a sit down ADR restaurant every other day to save some $$'s.

Which 7 ADR sit down restaurants are your favorites ?

We like so many - it is hard for us to narrow it down.
Your help would be greatful.

CP - breakfast
Tony's - dinner
Plaza - lunch
Coral Reef - lunch
Garden Grill - dinner
Le Cellier - lunch
50 PT - lunch or dinner
Mama Melrose - dinner
Yak & Yeti - lunch
RFC - lunch
T-Rex (new in 2008 or 2009) - lunch
Chef Mickey's - breakfast
1900 Park Fare - breakfast or dinner
'Ohana - breakfast
HDD - 9:30 PM show maybe to get a Disney Visa discount

My picks from your group are:

CP

50's Prime Time
Boma
Le Cellier
Cape May

Our favourite was always buffet breakfast at Donald's Breakfastosaurus, great buffet and characters. I don't know what happens at the new place. But we always booked it for the early admission and got to ride the rides before breakfast, and had no problam walking on to our top rides after an incredible breakfast. We love the Crystal Palace and the Liberty Tree Tavern for our last night. Le Celier is awesome, but, hey we are Canadian. We love Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. The kids had a blast at the Sci-Fi Dine in Theatre at MGM, but they also like the Hollywood and Vine. I loved the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary Hotel, but the kids thought it was too fancy. We also like Cap'n Jacks on the water for dinner. My teenager likes Planet Hollywood, but the people taking care of you there are pretty snotty. It's pretty hard to choose, for me it is all pretty happy and magical. Oh, the Coral Reel at the Seas in Epcot was very lovely too.
Have a great time,
donna

Of these, I would go with: Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, LeCellier, 50's Prime Time, Chef Mickeys, 'Ohana and 1900 Park Fare. Except for 50's, of the ones I mentioned those are ones we've all been to and enjoyed. But 50's is high on our list to try. ;)

My 7 would be....

CRT (breakfast)
Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Whispering Canyon (dinner)
Chef Mickeys (breakfast)
'Ohana (dinner)
LTT (dinner)
California Grill (dinner)

We always make an ADR for Kona, but for this thread I didn't choose it, because if I got there and they were full, than I would go to Captain Cooks for my Tonga Toast :goodvibes

Some of our other favorites not listed are Kona (breakfast or dinner), Rose & Crown, Spoodles, Beaches & Cream, and California Grill (a splurge but worth it).

From your list, I would definitely eliminate Tony's. On this past trip I was very excited about eating there and it was the worse meal of the trip. We ate at 50 PT and 'OHana's for dinner and enjoyed both. DH thought 'Ohana's was the best dinner we had the entrire week. We also ate at Chef Mickey's for breakfast and thought the food was very good. I haven't eaten at your other choices so I won't comment on them.

Personally, I would pick...

~Kona Cafe
~Crystal Palace
~Whispering Canyon Cafe
~Nine Dragons (currently being renovated, should be open in fall)
~Biergarten
~Boma
~Yak & Yeti

I've been to all of these except Boma and Yak & Yeti, but have heard that they are both great restaurants!

Out of your list, I would choose...

~CP
~Plaza
~Coral Reef
~50's PT
~Chef Mickey's
~'Ohana

I don't know what I would pick for the 7th restaurant because your list is limited. I would go with something at a resort, probably the Wilderness Lodge (Whispering Canyon Cafe).

Hope That Helps!
Simon :)

That's funny because we had the BEST meal of our 9 day trip at
TONY's. We definately are eating there again this year. We got
an early lunch with it first opened and it was not busy yet.
Our Food was very good--we ordered the Grilled Salmon, Ny Steak,
and White Pizza.

I say:
CP
Tony's
O'hanas'
CM (breakfast Only)
Mama Melrose
Coral Reef
Le Cellar

That is funny. This is one reason why I only half listen to reviews. What one person loves there will always be another person that absolutely hates it.

When I was planning the trip, I had read a lot of bad reviews about 'Ohana's, but that our favorite meal of the trip and would definitely go back.

Thank you to all - We will write down all the suggestions and have a discussion at our family dinner.

Anyone else with opinions ?
