:goodvibes We may be skipping the DDP on our next trip so if you could choose only one TS and one character meal, which would you choose and why? We are not picky eaters and feel the atmosphere truly adds to a great meal.

:thanks:

Character Meal would definitely be Ohana breakfast.

TS would be Jiko.

One character meal is tough, we love Cape May (breakfast) but tried Ohana (breakfast) last month and the food was awesome and the characters were a blast. So much fun at Ohana so I guess I would pick that one.

For a TS...that is even tougher! I guess I would pick Beirgarten because we love the food and we cannot get anything like that where we live plus the entertainment is so much fun and the atmosphere is awesome!

Character Meal for Food - Crystal Palace

Character Meal for Atmosphere - Chef Mickey's Breakfast (food is pretty bad at dinner, breakfast is fine for food)

TS - Jiko - Atmosphere and food are amazing!

TS with money not being an object - Victoria & Albert's

Character meal would be Chef Mickeys for dinner.

TS would be Boma. I'm assuming you wanted one credit. If you are considering 2 credit I'd have to change to Flying Fish, Jiko or Cali Grill! Which of those three depends on the time, if its for fire works CG. It is is earlier Flying Fish. Jiko any other time!

CHEF MICKEY'S-- no trip is complete without this for our family. Many of our favorite family memories are here.
Table Service- So far we like Whispering Canyon, but have some new places scheduled that we are ecited about including Cali Grill, LeCellier, Akerhaus and Kona Cafe. So, my opinions might change in November.

I'd go with Crystal Palace for the character meal (I love the Pooh characters and the food is great).

Then Jiko for TS (if you'd like something different -- and excellent!). If you are a more traditional eater, I'd pick Mama Melrose

Making my 5th WDW trip next month, went last in November 2007. My boys are young (now 5 & 2), so we were all about Character dining. Our character meals included, dinner at the Garden Grille in the Land at Epcot, Little Einsteins Breakfast at HS, and breakfast at Ohana in the Polynesian, to name a few. I think that one of the best meals we ate the entire stay, was the Ohana breakfast! Delicious food, gracious service, and plenty of character action are just part of the experience.
As for a TS, the restaurant in Germany at Epcot is great! I have to eat there at least one a trip--great variety, great taste, and live band make it a must!
:cheer2:

I have a meeting that begins in 4 minutes but can't wait to read the replies!!!! :hyper:

:confused3 Chef Mickey's seem to be an overwhelmeing favorite. We tried CM's last year for dinner and found the food gross. We must have hit them on a bad night.

We did dine at Cal Grill last year and it was awesome! :thumbsup2 Best view, service, and food.

Jiko looks interesting and I have read nothing but good things. :)

'Ohana was fabulous for dinner but maybe the breakfast is a good choice for Lilo and :stitch:

:thanks: for the replies!

I'd choose Crystal Palace for the character meal ... it's a unique and lovely setting and they have a decent breakfast buffet. Of course, if you're not a fan of Winnie the Pooh and his Dingleberry Gang that might not be such a good choice.

And oh dear ... just one TS meal?

If you're talking signature restaurant I'd go with Flying Fish ... wonderful wonderful seafood!

If you mean single table service meal, then I think I'd choose Chefs de France, for lunch so that I could have their quiche.

Chloe, my middle DD, adores Pooh and the Dingleberry crew. :rotfl2: CP it is!!!! :thumbsup2

Flying Fish and Chefs both look appealing. We love seafood, the kids do too, so Flying Fish would be a good choice.

My vote would also go to CP for the Character meal. The atmosphere is very nice, really enjoyed the breakfast. If your ADR is early enough you will also get some GREAT pics of the Castle and Main Street when it's still empty!

Our vote is Ohana breakfast for the character meal and either Jiko or The Wave for the TS. I agree with Chef Mickey's for the experience, but the didn't find the food to be all that great and it is always so crazy in there!

Character Meal: Crystal Palace (breakfast)

1. Good food, only breakfast buffet with PUFFED FRENCH TOAST!
2. Good atmosphere - nice, open, fun restaurant
3. Good character interaction - never any problems with seeing all of the characters & have always had plenty of time w/each of them
4. If you get an early adr on a non-emh day, you get to walk down an empty main street - makes for nice castle pics

Table Service: Coral Reef (dinner)

1. Excellent food - best steak I have ever had at WDW
2. Great atmosphere - you get to dine while watching all of the fish, sharks, sea turtles, etc. swim by
3. Great service - very attentive, no complaints
