If You Could Meet 1 Retired Disney Character?

I would love to meet Mushu, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Cruella, Governor Ratcliffe, and John Smith.

I keep picturing the poor retired characters locked up like in Robin Hood, complete with Alan-a-Dale singing "Not in Nottingham" and separate cells for the villains who get to come out for Halloween and Fantasmic!

As for who to meet, they're not retired but Chip and Dale in their Rescue Ranger outfits would make me be a five-year-old all over again!! As for actually retired I'd have to narrow it down and pick Scrooge McDuck. Or Megara.

What does Disney do with the retired characters?

They go back into "the vault" of course. Then 5 years later, they are re- released for a limited time and everyone spends thousands of dollars to visit them at WDW before they are put back in. :thumbsup2

Hey, it works with movies, right?

I don't know if any of these have actually been park characters, but I would love to meet any/all!

Kronk & Yzma
Basil of Baker Street
Bernard & Bianca
Cogsworth

Meg and Esmeralda...I think I may have loved them more than the princesses when I was a little girl, but I never got to meet them in the parks!

Sora and Donald and Goofy in their Kingdom Hearts costumes. I am so obsessed with those games. I heard they did meet and greets one year at MNSSHP shortly after the second game was released. I'd give my left kidney for that opportunity.

Yes! I second Newsies!! It is one of my favorite movies and I randomly sing songs from it all the time! :thumbsup2

I think it is getting a little more attention now that it is on Broadway. Didn't they perform during the televised Christmas Parade? I know I saw a promo for it, but missed the parade itself.

I would also be thrilled to meet Jack Kelly (even if it's not Christian Bale) and the Newsies. Guess that's not a retired character seeing as they haven't ever met in the parks to my knowledge. But I keep thinking they should bring a Newsies show to DHS. It would be perfect! It could easily replace that Disney Channel Rocks thing they have now. They already have the Red Car Newsboys at DCA, wouldn't be too hard to bring that to DHS and make it straight-up Newsies without the other storyline...

Add me to the Newsies list! I wore out my Newsies video tape and was so happy that it was on dvd already (by already, I mean like ten years ago. lol). Wish I could've seen it on Broadway too.

I have a friend that will swear up and down that she saw them filming in Disneyworld when she was little and when her parents asked what it was, a CM told them it was for a new movie Newsies. That trip was in 1991, so maybe, but if you look up the filming locations, they are all in Cali.

Don Karnage from Talespin

Oh my GOD it would be awesome to see him! I had no idea he was ever a park character!

I was going to say basically anyone from the shows of my childhood, like Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Chip and Dale in their Rescue Rangers outfits, etc. I don't know what the status of any of them is but I can't imagine they're out much since kids would have no idea who they are!

While not retired, Ms Bianca and Bernard used to be found at Walt Disney World and Disneyland back in the 70's,80's and 90's. They can currently be found in Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea.

I, too, am partial to Berlioz ;)

Characters JUST premiered in Paris for 4 days starting Valentine's Day. No word yet if they'll become regulars, or if they'll come state side.

They need to bring those two to Walt Disney World in the future.

Another vote for Flynn, Megara, Hercules, Kuczko, Kronk and the Bowler Hat Guy!
Muppets would be fun -- like Animal!!

I'd also love if they had a meet and greet with Captain Jack Sparrow... although he's not retired...

I also really wish I got the chance to meet Oliver from Oliver & Company. He was still doing meet and greets in the 90's.
