If you could live anywhere in the US, where would you live?

Nice to see the love for the Seattle and Portland area. Every time I fly home and see the mountains and the water I think "this is the most beautiful place to live". Love living here and can't imagine ever leaving, but a 2 month annual stay in Hawaii or Florida every January would be most welcome...

DH is always saying he wants to move out there. We may just have to make a trip out there to check it out. I just don't like the thought of being so far away from WDW :worried:

I would be a snow bird.
NYC big condo on Central park West from May until Christmas then January to May Savannah Ga.

Summer in Ogunquit ME with a house on the Marginal Way.

Winter in Key West FL.

Bradenton, Florida in the winter, Brighton, England in the summer.
Cruise west in September,
Fly east for the Christmas & New Year holidays,
Fly west in January,
Cruise east in April.

Wait a minute, that's what we do now!

OK, I've got nothing.

NYC, hands down and back around. :goodvibes

I would prefer Lower Manhattan but anywhere in Manhattan would most certainly do. ;)

That's lovely. It makes me happy when people grab their life, so to speak. :goodvibes

Texas Hill Country.

Newport Beach, CA

Chicago but not where I live currently, a high rise condo with lake & skyline views.

Yosemite Valley. Of course the issue living there is that there are no personal homes and in order to actually live there (as opposed to visiting) you need to be a federal government employee or a concession employee. Even then, many of the people working there live outside and commute to work.

I mean - if I could wake up and see Half Dome every morning, I think life would be as close to perfect as could be.

Other than that, I like where I live now. Weather is as close to ideal (freak winter cold spells being the exception) and it just feels like home. And if you checked out the price of housing you'd know that others feel the same way.

Healsdburg CA. Yes, we like wine, but we also like the area. And all the wonderful fresh food. And the weather, and location. Sigh.

Anywhere in the state of Florida!
Actually, this winter I'd have to say anywhere having trees that look even remotely like a palm tree and is WARM!

Too cold in Canada!

Saint Joseph, Michigan, the town where I was born and raised. It has a little of everything, except mountains, and it's close to Chicago.

Liberty Belle, if this is too private, ignore me. :goodvibes I'm just very curious.

But what stops you? Your work? Family not feeling the same?

You get used to earthquakes. They happen everyday.

I sure couldn't! :faint:

Our son lived through the Christchurch NZ ones (plus many before and since), but I would rather deal with Hurricanes - at least we have warnings and can flee if necessary. :goodvibes

:) Mostly family. My husband was born and raised here and all of his family is here. My parents live in Kentucky about an hour and a half away from us and the only people of mine left in Michigan is my sister and some cousins (and an aunt and uncle a couple of hours away).

My kids love Michigan and would love to live there, but my husband will never leave Kentucky (unless he was drawn away by a job, but it would have to be a very good job fit for him with a steep increase in salary).
