I'd live in a plantation style home on about 75 acres in Texas, likely outside of Dallas. It would have plenty of room for horses and a nice vegetable garden with roses all around the house and a wonderful backyard oasis with a swimming pool with a waterfall and a nice hot tub.
Marin County, California (just north of San Francisco). Never too hot. No bugs. Never too cold. Beautiful scenery. Excellent access to outdoor activities and world class opera, theater, etc.
DW and I lived in San Diego for 6 months. When we visited La Jolla (just north of San Diego), we decided that was where we were going to live when we won the lottery.

If money wasn't an issue, I'd probably have a couple residences. One in the Carolinas, one in Europe somewhere (e.g. a Tuscan villa) and maybe one out West or Hawaii.
We would have two homes. Portland Oregon for Summer, and either Orlando or Mesa AZ for winter. We kind of like the snow bird idea, as long as both are nice homes.
