I just found out this afternoon that my grandpa is the in hospital in the ICU hooked up to a ventilator and isn't doing too well.

He went to the ER early this morning with shortness of breath and chest pains. They ruled out a heart attack, but he did quit breathing in the ER and so they put a tube into his lungs so he can breathe. For now I think they're calling it Respiratory failure. According to my mom he probably also has congestive heart failure too.

I'm pretty upset right now. I have alot of classes that I need to focus on and cannot get back home to see him. The doctor said he has a 50/50 chance of making it thru this. He is 83 years and so this could be it.

I understand, and I am so sorry. If you feel like you need to go back home for a few days, most teachers will understand when it's something like this.

I truly hope he gets better. Doctors can do miracles now-a-days.
