Let's pretend that Disney called you up. You get to be the ONE person to choose ONE thing - big or small, money is no object - to change at WDW. What would it be?

-5th Gate?
-Cars Land?
-Star Wars Land?
-Monorail Extension?
-DHS goes back to being a working studio?
-Duffyland?
-Bulldoze Universe of Energy?
-New Resort?
-Keep the atrium waterfalls at Poly?
-CHOOSE YOUR OWN!

The only rule is that it has to be something for all of us to enjoy. (You can just choose free APs for life for your family, or for you to be in charge of all the Disney Parks!)

What would you choose?

Ooooo love this question, MichaelaF! Here goes:

DISNEY GRAND CENTRAL (DGC) and The Walt Disney World Monorail Transit System (WDWMTS)

A major expansion of the current monorail system to include lines to all parks and resorts.

The Disney Grand Central complex would be located north of Coronado Springs between Reedy Creek and World Dr. and would be a hub for all lines...to include restaurants and shops...and a hotel....The Grand Central themed to New York art-deco stylings.

The DGC would be styled similarly to New York's Grand Central Station...marble, tall arched glass...with plenty of Disney touches of course! A huge information board would direct guests to line bays for each specific monorail.

The DGC would incorporate the existing Transportation & Ticket Center/Epcot line as an express line. So MK and Epcot would have two dedicated lines each..the express and a line stopping at DGC.

Similar to NYC's subway system..each line would have a specific color code and letter and/or number designation...for example, MK-gold MK, Epcot-silver EP, etc. This could be marketed in shirts, apparel, etc as the NYC subway lines are.

Some lines in the WDWMTS might include multiple resorts depending on location and proximity...the All-Stars would have one line for instance, AOA and POP would share a line, etc. Line stations would have buses transporting guests between the station and resorts.

Magical Express would be incorporated into the WDWMTS through a large guest-receiving station with a dedicated line to and from the DGC...having heard some ME horror stories...would make a concerted effort to improve the service transit times for guests using ME...the station would be located at an optimal location...haven't figured that out yet!

I'd want the DGC so iconic and grand it would be a destination and experience in itself!

A massive and record-breaking SIMULTANEOUS investment into the three non-MK parks. Once new attractions are up and running at each respective park, there would be a thorough update/refurbishment of the older attractions.

Oh to pick one thing ... first thought is a cars land since I love it in California. But I agree with Previous poster add more monorail to animal kingdom, DHS and even to disney downtown

A total refurbishment of Epcot. Update the World Showcase (things like the movies in France and China). Totally update Future World to be current (and future-leaning) while still maintaining the general tone of the original. Make sure that any character branding is appropriate to the pavilion/land and subtle.

Although I really like the idea of building Walt's EPCOT vision.

I'm sure if I gave it some thought, I'd come up with a better answer on my own, but out of the specific choices listed I'd go with the monorail expansion. It'd be a lot more fun getting around. And no more waiting on busses!

But if I were given the choice of doing one thing to DHS, it would be your suggetion of making it a working studio. In recent threads discussing the park, I've been tempted to make that very suggestion myself. People keep talking about adding thrill rides and such, but I think making it truly a studio is what it needs. As much as I'd like Star Wars Land there, making the place a functioning studio lot (daily) would make the atmosphere more exciting.

BEER DAVE DIDN'T READ THE RULES!

Try again, Beer Dave.

Oh that's hilarious! I must have considered the last line as the standard quote or a vacation counter or something like that and didn't read it. Awesome.....Gee.... it's much harder to think of something that will benefit everyone.... not something I am accustomed to. lol.....

Operation restore Epcot. Start with Dreamfinder, bring back the wonders of life pavilion, take some space and rebuild Horizons. For the world showcase lets crack out the lights, fire and bring back full illuminations.

I'll let it slide just this once, Dave. ;)

MKMountainBoy....You've clearly thought this through! I love your idea! I was going to say Monorail extension myself, but I didn't have the details thought through...yours is great!

I'm totally on board with Epcot improvements too. I'm still hoping for Dreamfinder's return.... And I don't really understand why Wonders of Life went away. I mean, I know that it was super 90s, but so was all the rest of Epcot and still is, some of it. Anyway, I suppose that's another thread.....
