based on everything from weather, schools, cost of living, job market, which one would you choose?

I'd stay here in CA...everything is perfect... but If I had to chose I'd move to... Washington. :)

Other then already living in Florida, my next choice would be Wyoming.

FLA first then probably Rochester, NY or MD near DC

Oregon, Washington state, California, Michigan, upstate NY.

anywhere but here... :p

Hopefully we'll be in South Carolina within the next 10 years.

Oregon, Washington, or Florida

I hope to be residing in one of those states within the next two years.
I am very sick of Chicago:(

The reason I asked, my mother who lives with us retires in 2 years and we are leaving Mississippi.

We thought Florida but we want somewhere with snow, living in Mississippi we have never had snow and although I know it can be a pain, it can also be gorgeous.

We have done ZERO reserach yet and my choices are simply based on what I have seen and what I have read but I am thinking,

1. Maine on the Atlantic Coast
2. Minnesota (Best friend lives there)
3. Oregon
4. Northern Pennsylvania or New York State

Then of course Vermont and New Hampshire sound nice as well.

Beth, I am moving as far away from the snow as I can it about 6 years. We are looking at N. Carolina, S. Carolina, or Georgia. I'd love Florida, but Stephen won't move there.

Can't help you with your choices. Haven't been to any except Oregan. It's nice, but rainy. They do have snow in the mountains. The spring in Portland is amazing. The rest all sound too cold and snowy for me. Good luck.

Based soley on the delightful climate and the scenery - Southern California. I know it's very expensive to live there, but some how a lot of poor people mange to do so. ;)

Kelli,

LOL! People in the snow want to move South and people in the hot south want to move north!

Oregon has always held a certain fascination for me for some reason. I don't know why, it seems almost mystical to me for some reason.....the rain, the fog, just gorgeous!

I'd have to do more research to be positive, but it would either be northern New Mexico, or Southwestern Colorado.

I think I would enjoy North Carolina or Virginia, but I'm happy where I am.

I choose Florida because it has everything I love; my family, the beach, Disney, plenty of shopping, great weather year round. The only bad thing is that darn humidity.

I live in Oregon, Portland area, it's GORGEOUS. The summers here are perfect, about 85 and sunny with NO humidity! The mountain views are unbelieveable, just the winter rain/gloominess isn't so much fun. But better than snow.
