If you could change your surname to anything, what would you pick?

I would take my mother's last name.

She took her maiden name back in the divorce. My father stated that he had no wish for visitation or even contact with us, and was fighting paying child support tooth and nail, so my sister and I asked the judge if we could also take Mom's last name. He said no.

I would have changed it when I turned 18, but it's kind of expensive where I live and there's never been a time in my life where I didn't have a better use for that amount of money. I think everybody should be entitled to one free name change, regardless of whether or not they're getting married, divorced, or adopted.
