If you could build a new Tomorrowland ride, what would it be? What type of ride would it be? Would it be based on a Disney movie or not? Go ahead and let the imagineer that's inside you out.

Oh, let me at it! ;)

First of all, bulldoze the speedway to make some room. ;)

Next, dig a big old lagoon, kinda like the one that USED TO BE in Fantasyland. ;)

Put in a high tech submarine voyage ala 20K Leagues, with either Nemo or Atlantis or Little Mermaid type theme. It would be very realistic, futuristic and very cool. :cool1:

Sounds like the Nemo Sub ride they are building at Disneyland right now and will open in 2007.

I would plop a Matterhorn right where the speedway is. HEHE.

Why? Because I can. And If I'm going to pretend I'm Walt, I may as well plop rides like walt.

There are two men that tomorrowland should be based on- Jules Verne & H.G.Wells.These guys did "tomorrow" bettter (way back in the 1800 & 1900's) than I have seen anyone today even get close to.

Walt Disney had this drawn up by Tony Baxter in 1974 called - Discovery Bay.
Please put those plans into production :thumbsup2

Tim Delaney did a great plan for Paris Disneyland. Very beautiful painting if anyone has ever seen it. Blimp, sub , rocket and beautiful skyline.

Also Hong Kong Disney did a great Mystery Island type park. (or is it at Disney Japan?)

Although I hate the indy speedway track, I don't have the heart to get rid of it. Its a walt disney original and should really be preserved for this reason. I would tear down Stitch in the most violent way possibly and use that space to incorparte a new updated version alien encounter but in stead of it being a sitting down stationary ride I would make it moving ride and simulate like the alien is chasing you. As for the timekeeper (RIP) space I would turn it into a ride which involves timetravelling but I am undecided in the finer points.

I would have to think that the Indy Speedway would have to go. Make half of it a ride dedicated to the Cars movie, and the other half a futuristic Tomorrowland ride. I was thinking maybe something to do with Hyperspace travel, and inter-dimensional travel. It is something that is constantly being researched, so there is some truth to it being a possibility (maybe not a great possibility, but it is being looked into) And it is also something that would revolutionize space travel. Whatever fictional company could "solve" hyperspace travel, and could take us to the stars, only to interrupted by "unforseen" problems. Apparently Timekeeper is being replaced by a Monsters, Inc. attraction, and I doubt that they will dump Stitch, even though I haven't even ridden it yet because of so many bad reviews. And even if they do, I doubt it would be for another Exterrorestrial encounter-type ride.
