...More power to you!
Here's the scoop...
We're planning an extended-family trip to WDW in June 2012. In order to accomplish this, we need to do TWO point transfers, June 2011 UY and June 2012 UY. I called MS today to try to figure out when I need to do the transfers. So, I'll work backwards in an attempt to make sense...
1) Trip dates fall in the JUNE 2012 UY
2) Trip will require using BANKED 2011 and CURRENT 2012 points
3) Reservation will be made at the 11-month window (July 2011)
When I explained this to MS, the first reply I got was that I cannot transfer IN the 2012 points in July of 2011 because "borrowed" points cannot be transferred. I pointed out to her that the points would NOT be "borrowed" since the vacation dates fall in the 2012 UY. After a few moments of silence, she agreed that there should be a way to do this. I was most concerned about the one transfer per year rule since we definitely need two years worth of points.
The conclusion (solution) that she gave me was this: I need to call on the day that I am going to make my reservation (July 2011) and do the transfer of the 2011 UY points and immediately bank them. Then, I can do the transfer in of the 2012 points and make the reservation at that time.
Does this sound right? I mentioned the one transfer per year rule and she said that it is per UY, in this case, the 2011 points would be the one transfer for 2011 and the 2012 points would be the one transfer for 2012. The fact that the transfers would be done on the same day is irrelevant. Does this seem like the best plan? I am paranoid that they will tell me that I can only do one of the transfers which will leave me WAY short of the points that I need.
Any thoughts?
