I do appolgize. So many households have caller ID. I don't want to hang up just to have the wrong number person call me right back.

I apologize and then have a nice, long conversation with them, invite them for coffee, find out their life story, etc. OK, I just apologize and hang up.

Y'all must live in nice areas. I would say that at least 1 in 5 people in hang up when they call my house and have dialed a wrong number. And almost EVERYBODY who calls my workplace just hangs up.

I can't stand it when people just hang up. Especially when they call late at night. A simple sorry would do.
