...how do you keep it cool? I've been reading that the coolers won't chill things enough. Any advice is appreciated! ::yes::

Bring your cooler and ice it down once onboard. You can bring a rolling cooler as a carry on, with beverages inside - security just needs to inspect it. Just don't have any ice in it (so it can be easily inspected). Once onboard, have your cabin steward bring you the ice.

Tiffany, the coolers in the rooms are just that, coolers. Not mini-fridges, that's why everyone says to ice it down after you get aboard.

We thought the cooler worked just fine keeping the beer cold. Our room steward was also great about bringing ice.

I had the cabin steward put a bag of ice in the fridge and it seemed to keep it cooler............

Our fridge in our room kept everything cool. We had it pretty full of beer, milk, juice, yougurt, leftovers from Palos.

Our beer cooled well overnight so I personally don't think that a large cooler with ice is a necessity.

Despite what many have said, the "Beverage Coolers" are more similar to mini-refrigerators than coolers. They plug into an electrical outlet, have condensation coils, and fans in the rear.

Although they may not be full-fledged refrigerators, they do keep things cold. (As a comparison, even the plug-in thermoelectric coolers sold at shops like Wal mart or K-Mart can keep items 40 degrees cooler than the surrounding temp. If your room is kept at 75 degrees, then the drinks would be 35 degrees. Sounds cold to me.)

We always bring canned Coke onboard and have never had problems with it not being cold by the next day after placing it in the fridge.

I think that some people may have had Beverage Coolers that didn't work properly or that they expected them to be actual refrigerators. That could be why some people state that they didn't work well for them.

On our cruise in May, I was lucky enough to see two of the Beverage Coolers being rolled down the hallway by one of the crew. The unit on the bottom was facing outward and the unit on top of that one was facing backwards. At any rate, that's how I discovered the units actually do plug in and have fans in back.
