If you bought DVC at $65 or less, are you feeling

Never sell!! We purchased in 91, had all those free park passes, but we still love the resorts and WDW so "NO SALE".

Bought at $62.75, and when I heard of the increase, I put myself on a waitlist for a teeny add-on. Nope... no selling here!

Bought both our main contract and our add-on at $65 and wouldn't think of selling. We've had way too much fun with our DVC and won't be giving it up! Well never say never, but not anytime soon. Wish we had bought in earlier, but still very happy that we bought when we did!

No plans on selling here. With the talk of the points going to $95, it does make me wonder if we will see the resale market take off in the next few weeks? It would make me think that people want to buy before they see an increase in price for the resales. If I had the funds available, I would be adding on right now.

We purchased our OKW resale just before the ROFR started happening.:teeth:

Closed 10/02 @ $64.00 per point. 300 points so with closing costs it ran about $65.00 per point and we had 258 banked points to use.

We paid those off and bought 100 SSR @ the $79.00 per point with all our points to use this year.

I feel REAL GOOD about our decisions.:teeth: I think we will see how the 400 points works for us! At $95.00 per point we might have just purchased our last points from DVC.::yes:: Depending on how the resale market fares we might have pirchased all the DVC we need.;) We'll see!;)

I'm not feeling ANY pressue to sell, I am however feeling rather smug!;)

We purchased our original BWV contract in 1999 at $65 per point. We just added on to that contract last spring when BWV points became available through DVC again. We have no intention of selling and are very glad we purchased when we did.:teeth:

Capital gains is one very good reason NOT to sell. Since you do have to pay them there's no way I would let the state or feds benefit from our DVC.:teeth: Let them pay for their own vacation.::yes::

We'd eat through all our profit in a jiffy spending all that cash on deluxe rooms, so it would defeat the whole purpose.

It does make me very glad we bought when we did back in 96!

I would only sell if we decided not to go back to WDW or Orlando for a long time, but doubt that will happen.

I bought at about $62pp.

We bought most of our points at less than $65.00. I just took my first trip to OKW since I retired, and it was the best yet. Great to know that you don't have to go back to work after comming back from vacation. So, NO, selling is not a consideration at this point. Just looking forward to going back in December.

No we are not selling! Makes me feel great that we bought when we did.( Spring of 2000 and addons after that. ):Pinkbounc

MB brought us down to net $65 per point and I'm not selling at ANY PRICE!

No kids, but I've got 3 nieces and a nephew who now equate Auntie Annie with all things Disney and especially Disney Vacations. When it comes my time to go I can't think of any better way for them to remember me.

How do you put a price on that?

Keep in mind that the $65 you paid in 1999 would be about $75 today if you figure an annual 3% inflation factor.

In other words if you would sell, and AFTER paying any selling fees, you would wind up with $75 per point, then basically you got back exactly what you paid, no more, no less.

Hope that makes sense.

P.S., and yes, Disney has definitely raised their prices much more than regular inflation.

So if I sold today I would get my money back AND have had the use of DVC all these years?? WHOO HOO! (I'm not selling, fuggetaboutit.)
;)

Bought our OKW in 1997 (resale) at $54 a point and no closing costs as we assumed the people's loan through Disney! We also got 3 years of park passes!

NO WAY would I sell it now, we got more than our money's worth, as each year we had it in the '90's we took many people with us so they could get the park passes while they lasted. All in all, we took 15 people in 1997. 17 people in 1998, 12 people in 1999. Added up the cost of the room, the cost of park hoppers and we are way ahead!

We bought at $67 per point in 2000, but with a 15% CM discount, so basically, we bought at $56.95 per point. We've constantly joked that we could sell and use the profits to add another floor on our house!

That said, we wouldn't sell. We'd lose out because we wouldn't cut back on our trips to WDW -- so we'd have to pay to stay there and we wouldn't have our handy-dandy kitchen. YUCK!
