If you book a package through disneyworld.com....

do they give you an automatic discount if codes come out later and the room ends up being less? Or once you book are you stuck with whatever price they booked it at? Booked through a travel agent last night and once the discounts came out she applied the discount to our package. Just wondered if the same happens through disneyworld.com. I'm the type who would rather book it myself than go through a travel agent, unless of course I am going to end up paying way more that way!

I am not sure as right now I am trying to decide whether to book room only or package but I believe you would have to call them to see if you could get the discount applied. They will do it, but I don't think it is done automatically (although wouldn't that be nice, LOL).

I was going to book thru Magical Journeys but I really don't see the point since I'm doing all the checking for discounts, etc. myself anyway. I guess I'm a little neurotic that way!!

As far as I know, you would have to call and apply the code. Disney doesn't offer up anything unless you specifically ask. We don't usually go through a TA at AAA, because if you do, you have no access to your reservation. They have to make all changes etc. for you, you can't call for yourself. We had trouble with this in August when 16 of us went down for a family reunion. FIL booked his room through a AAA agent, everyone else booked their own. His was the only one we had trouble with. I called to book everyone for the MG Fireworks Cruise. His was the only one I couldn't book. So, if it's a toss up between room only and a package through a TA, take that into consideration as well.

Disney does not automatically lower your rate. You have to monitor and watch for specials yourself, then call and have it applied it if is available.

The Disney Specialist agencies are the ones they let in ahead of time and they know about the specials before the public does. I used to book myself, but the wait time and the hassle was not worth it. I would rather have someone do it for me.

There are a few really good agencies-Dreams, Small World and Magical Journeys. All of them will get you the best deals. But, if you make them price out a million things a million different ways with the new pricing-it really isn't nice to just take the information they give you and not book through them.
