and you know anyone who is a current member, PLEASE give their name as a referral as soon as you start talking to someone at DVC. When we bought, we didn't know this (they don't advertise that for sure) and we didn't refer the friends who gave us so much information and last week two people we know bought in and didn't know to give our names either.

The bonuses for the member are quite large if you give their name when you first start talking to DVC.

They have a website where you can go to order the dvd AND put a referral name in with city and state. This will get the referal done for that person as well.

My guide asked me if anyone referred us and at the time, no one had so I told her no, unless she wanted to count the other board I frequent because that's where I got my info from.
I later found out that a close friend of mine had been there a week before us and his family bought at AKV so I wish I had known because I'd have given my guide his name!

I applaud you trying to get people their referral rewards. Sometime, however, it will absolutely not matter.

I, for instance, will not see any referral rewards coming to me. Real Estate laws/agreements/whatever do lot allow referral awards for people in Indiana as well as many other states.

It would be nice . . . especially considering the number of people I've HOOKED -- um, make that, "introduced" -- to DVC!

My actual reward comes from watching them get pixie dust all over them and going ga-ga for something we have enjoyed for a while now!

I didn't even know that until I read the whole pamphlet today - that's a shame. Although I also tell people about it for the love of the pixie dust myself and have never actually expected anything in return. Just now that I've seen how large the bonus is it would be nice to see people get a little pixie dust in return. Odd that they would do something only available to some states.

Just wondering if anyone knows...I gave a name of a member in 2003 when I toured and considered buying in...didn't until a month ago through resale. Will that persone still get the referral $?

I don't have it in front of me but it was in the new animal kingdom villas package that arrived as advertisement - it was something like 200 for 1st referral that closes, 350 for 2nd, 500 for 3rd, 650 or 750 (can't remember) for 4th and 1000 for 5th in a one year period - not sure if it was calendar or rolling though. I don't know which states offhand. On the member site it may have this officially though.

We originally toured SSR in 05 and mentioned person that reffered us.. I called yesterday to inquire about new DVC promos on SSR/AKV and they still had my friends listed. I hope to leave Disney in Sept as a new DVC member and hopefully my friends get a great incentive. I am looking forward to touring AKV. I just hope it is $$ well invested. All i've heard is positive things about DVC.
