Not sure it's "funny" exactly. I wonder why so many people "unloaded"? Not an X user, but I presume it's like any other on-line platform - strangers saying things to each other that they wouldn't/don't/can't say to people IRL. Are we really so isolated now? I sort of hope most of those 4.7 thousand people who replied were just trying to be funny. It's kind of painful to think of so many needing that outlet for a bit of human (well, you know what I mean) connection and to feel heard. 
I'm not sure it's about the platform itself so much as it is about courage. If you tell a stranger something, and then regret it, you've lost nothing. But if you tell the people you're close too, you have to keep dealing with the repercussions.
