if you’re about to sail, can you ask about this?

If you are on board or about to sail, have a wonderful cruise!!! I have a question I hope someone can answer for you about a Disney ship. Maybe an officer? I’ll even take a hypothetical explanation!

We are supposed to sail on the Magic, departing Miami on 12/20-26. The only 6 night sailing of the “merrytime” cruises on the Magic. However for some reason when I check Port of Miami’s departure schedule, it does not show my ship departing that day. It shows it arriving that morning but not leaving. All the other Disney ships are listed coming and going that month as scheduled.

When I look at the port schedules for all our stops including Castaway Cay, same thing - the Disney Magic is missing from the dates of my sailing but it’s listed on other sailings that month - so only my sailing is missing.

What does that mean? Could it be that my cruise going to be cancelled or shortened and they just haven’t announced it yet? What other explanation is there?

I call the general question number and they have no idea of course. They only see that my sailing is still being sold.

I worry that because it’s a 6 night that it will be cancelled.

Maybe someone on the ship has an educated theory.

The Disney Magic is currently in The Atlantic Ocean with an estimated arrival at Miami Florida of October 16. Before The Magic can start normal passenger cruises from Miami it has to go through the test cruises and simulated cruises required by The CDC. Like we have seen with The Wonder, The Dream and The Fantasy, doing the test cruises and passing the certification required by the American CDC takes time.

Even though The Magic has done a summer season in The UK with passengers, the ship still has to get by certified by the American CDC in order to sail from an American port.

The first scheduled cruise from Miami on The Magic is Thursday 28 October. It is very likely there will be movements, changes and cancellations of The Magic's cruises in October, November and December due to all sorts of reasons, from the CDC certification process, scheduling at Castaway Cay or scheduling at Miami port.

The WONDER isn't on the schedule for SAN DIEGO after October 5th either, but we know they are cruising.

Our Fantasy cruise on Jan 2nd isn't on any schedule either. I think DCL is just WAY behind on getting their ships scheduled.
