If we share CS with DSD....

what can we later use her credit for? For example, if I give her some of my food and DSS gives her some of his, can we later use her childs CS credit for a snack or something? When we go somewhere exciting she usually does not eat much at meals and would prefer to snack a little later.

We were able to use CS for extra snacks at a CS restaurant that had snacks available. You could check. I think that one CS credit was worth 3 snack credits.

Don't plan on it, but it never hurts to ask. If it's possible, you have a better chance at your/a resort's food court than at a park counter service restaurant.

You can get Hot Dogs at Casey's and Turkey legs at the Lunching Pad with child CS credits since they don't have devoted kids menus:thumbsup2

There is no such thing as a child CS credit. There are only CS credits. You should order a child a children's meal at a quick service restaurant if you order her something on her own. If there is no children's meal available, you can order any cs meal using the cs credits.

I'd suggest you plan to use "her" credits for breakfasts at the resort- grab a kid's breakfast platter to share before heading to the parks for the day. Then you can share your lunches later.

Credits are NOT divided between adult and child at this time on CS. You will only be allowed to order up to the number of adult meals allowed on your card at a time, however. So if there are 2A/1C listed on your card, you can only order up to 2A/1 C meal at a time. (or any variation of those meals).

The value of a child on the DDP is amazing and is totally based on the TS meals you get plus the snack value. Any CS meal you get is essentially "free" to you each day. There's no need to "maximize" any value out of it. You are already maxed out on it! :)

Are you sure this is how CS credits work? With all due respect, I don't think this is true for 2007 (I haven't been to WDW yet this year, however, so I yield to you if you have). The 2007 DDP brochure certainly distinguishes between CS credits for adults and CS credits for kids. It has an example of a party of 4 (2A/2C) staying for 5 nights; that party has "20 Quick Service meals (10 for Guests ages 10+ and 10 for Guests ages 3-9)." (I added the bold.) If it worked the way you describe, that party would in effect have 20 adult CS credits. In other words, there would be nothing to prevent that party of 4 from walking into a CS restaurant, sending Dad through the line once to get 2 adult CS meals, setting those down at the table, and then going back and getting 2 more adult CS meals - and doing this everyday until all 20 credits were used up without ever once getting a single kids CS meal even though there are 2 children on the reservation. If what you are saying is actually how the plan is working now, in 2007, this changes my understanding of the DDP radically. I would also submit that the FAQ here would need to be changed.

If there is no children's meal available, you can order any cs meal using the cs credits.

Now this is correct for sure and the list of CS places with no children's menu is in the FAQ:

Catalina Eddie (Studios)
Toluca Turkey Legs (Studios)
Cool Wash Pizza (Epcot-FW)
Casey's (MK)
Pete's Doggone Good Dogs (MK)
Pizza Planet (Studios)
Sommerfest (Epcot-WS Germany)

Your bolded addition is the intent of the plan, absolutely. I don't disagree with you. Your example of dad running through the line twice is also accurate currently. CS credits are NOT divided in the disney computer system. (Probably because there are QS/CS locations without childrens menus.) I'll say it again. There's no such thing as children's CS credits....there are only children's CS meals. When you order a meal for a child on the plan, Disney asks (and you are on your honor to do so) that you order them a CHILD'S meal when available. I don't think that the FAQ needs to be changed because the plan is clear.

The vast majority of people using the DDP are going to follow the rules. A few are going to try to "get one over" on Disney. Disney has addressed the big money concern w/ the DDP and that was the $ loss on the TS meals (adults using Child credits). Basically when you buy the DDP, you get your CS and snack free, maybe they aren't really concerned w/ that at all? I don't know. Maybe everyone who doesn't do the DDP and just eats all CS meals are subsidizing our counter service credits!??!! :rotfl2:

Thanks Liz! That is crystal clear. And you're right, the FAQ doesn't need to be changed and I shouldn't have suggested it - the DDP rules are clear, and the FAQ clearly explains those rules and how to abide by them.

Here's what Disney says about this:

ChildAndAdultCredits.JPG

In a nutshell, if you're going for five nights, and there are two adults and a young child (2A1C), you get 10 adult TS meal entitlements, 5 young child TS meal entitlements, 10 adult CS meal entitlements, 5 young child CS meal entitlements, and 15 snack entitlements. For CS, that means that your family is entitled to 10 adult meals and 5 child meals.

I think my 8 yr old nephew will be fascinated by those huge turkey legs. I didnt know they were ok to be ordered as a child cs. We were planning to order him one using one of our cs. Thanks for the info.:goodvibes

They are available for CS cresit at the Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland, where since there is no child's menu, they are available on a child's credit. I don't think tou can use CS credits for them at the little carts and stands around the parks though. (of course I could be wrong)

:)

This is what happened to us except we don't share. One day DH and I got sick so we ate nothing that day. We ended up with at the end of our stay with 4 CS credits left. (We all got sick with this trip) Due to we were there 6 nights and 7 days we had no credits left for the last day(normally). So do to being sick we had 4 CS credits left, so we used them in DMGM and we shared them between the 5 of us. We got (2) pizza and salade with drink and dessert, and we got double burger with fries with a extra bun and drink and dessert. So we didn't have to pay opps for anything. Normally though we would have used them up and payed opps for the last day. The place we did eat at DMGM there was no such thing as kids meals so there was enough food for all of us.

Ok, hopefully this is the correct thread for this, but here's my question:

What do you do when DS won't (or doesn't want to) eat anything on the kids' menu? My DS (5) loves hot dogs and is going to want a hot dog at the places (like Pecos Bill) where they are available. I'm not going to tell my 5 year old at Disney World, "I'm sorry, but you must eat chilled chicked (because he won't touch a Sloppy Joe with a ten foot pole)" because that's all there is on the kids' menu. But Pecos Bill is one of my favorite places, so I don't want to skip it either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

(I don't have a fancy signature because I don't know how to do it, but we're going Sept. 16-22. DH and I are taking DSs ages 5 and 2). :)

Hot Dogs are easy
Casy's Corner and Pete's Doggone Good Dogs are two of the Places that don't have dedicated kids menus....so DS can have his hot Dog

Also Hot Dogs are on the kids menu at a few CS places
Flame Tree at AK comes to mind immediately.:thumbsup2

I'd get him a hot dog before you hit Pecos Bills (either Casey's or Toon Town) and then have your meal. He'll be satisfied w/ nibbling on your fries and you can still have your burger. I don't think there' s a hot dog at pecos bills - even on the adult menu...... www.allearsnet(dot)com

My DGD would not touch anything on the Pecos Bill menu. Not on the children's or the regular menu. My DD ordered some FF and we fed her something later. I wish we had thought about hot Dogs because she loves them. I think she had just eaten a Turkey Leg though, so who could have eaten lunch after one of those?
